Hi Everyone,
I just thought I would fill all of you in on what I've been facing in my life lately, and why I've seemed very withdrawn from conversation here.
My ex-girlfriend is trying to take our daughter away from me. I have full custody. However she is doing it in the most disgusting despicable way. I let Elizabeth go to her mom's for the summer. Her mother refused to allow her to come home, and the very day after I called and told her I was coming to get Beth she started accusing my neighbor of molesting Beth to Child Protective Services. So I'm having to fight to keep custody. They have temporarily taken Beth away from me, and I've been miserable. On top of this I've lost my job, had my computers damaged/destroyed in a lightning storm, and I've managed to make my back injuries worse somehow. So I'm fighting to keep my child (They want to completely terminate my parental rights), trying to find work I can do with my injuries, and trying to get disability. All at the same time. Needless to say I've no energy nor joy whatsoever.

Seems the most important thing in all of this is your daughter. Fight to keep her. And have the neighbor sue for defamation if there is no truth to the story she gave. Get a good lawyer. It'll cost you, but you don't want to go it alone.

Dylan, I'm genuinely sorry to hear that! I hope you manage to survive all the hardship that you're facing right now. Isn't it always like that? Misery comes in threes. Or is that fours?
Fight for your daughter and - Mordel's right - get a lawyer. Did I understand it correctly? Your ex is accusing your neighbour of misconduct? What is your take on it? Sounds like you're confident that's a b/s story. Man, what a .....
We heard about this and your computer woes - but it's compounded by a bad work and physical situation? Gee....
Oh, and sorry about the avalanche of files - I needed to procrastinate for a bit, hadn't read this note. Don't worry about them, at your own time....in happier times!

I wish, I'm flat broke -been unemployed for 3 months- but thankfully I've got a *decent* court appointed attorney. I'm going to keep struggling on, I would never just sit quietly by and allow my daughter to be used in such a way.
Thank you all for your support and I've never been more glad of becoming a member of this community these years past.

Update:
Well, yesterday ( 10/28 ) we had a court appearance on the parental rights issue. The good news is that it was adjourned because the Child Protective Services people were told by the police that they find no evidence that the man accused of molesting my daughter is guilty. And since I wouldn't be considered negligent if he is not guilty, they decided to adjourn the hearing until after the accused man takes his polygraph test. Which I have faith he will pass since he REQUESTED it.
The bad news is that the Judge is a woman who is a man-hater and, because of my criminal record from my teen years (yes I'm a felon twice over), decide to pursue removal of my parental rights anyways. Its a sick twisted mess.
As for my back/neck injuries.... so far they are denying me disability so I am still trying to find work that I can do crippled as I am. These days I can barely sit up... and the pain is so bad that I often cannot sleep because even in a state of complete physical relaxation I am in agony.
I'm at wits end with everything all hitting me at once. I feel like I am dieing, and it is worse because I am depressed since the only thing I can do most days is sit and think over my problems, my regrets, and be lonely. So I thank you all for this community which has been one of my few outlets for the past couple months.

I thank you jymset, and to address your concerns sent via email (and so no one else thinks the wrong thing by my poor choice of words) I *FEEL* like I am dieing, physically because of the pain. Not that I want to die or anything like that. Just tired of all the agony. Don't ever injure your back if you can help it, I could not as I was a passenger in a car accident when mine happened.

Well, if memory serves you have it worse than I Vag. But I only have it this bad because I didn't get medical attention for 2 years after the accident that I hurt my back in. So my own fault.
