==Overview:==
Although battlemechs are generally regarded as the kings of the battlefiield,
more conventional forces such as armor, infantry, and powered infantry can
still play a pivotal role.

While entire battlemechs were created to deal with infantry (Firestarter) and
powered infantry (Komodo, Snake, Fireball), nothing has ever been created
specifically to combat armor.

Seeing a potential market, the NETC stepped in with their Panzerjager. A
modification of their Vedette chassis, the Panzerjager sports an LB-10X in
place of the UAC/5 and mounts support weaponry in the form of an SRM 4 and a
second machine gun; all of this is at the cost of some speed.

The logic behind the weapons mix is simple. The LB-X's slug rounds can quickly
burst through even the thickest of armor, while the SRMs and cluster rounds
can sand down the surface of a unit in search of weak points. The twin machine
guns enable the unit to quickly kill any tank crews that try to evacuate.

Interestingly enough, initial testing has shown thatthe weapons load-out is
equally effective against power armor and infantry as well. Time will tell,
however, if this will hold up during actual combat.
