Okay here is something we can play around with:

Prototype Death Star Battle Station
Craft: Custom Deep Space Battle Station Prototype
Type: Deep space mobile battle station prototype
Length: 120 kilometers (diameter)
Crew: 256, gunners: 45, skeleton: 75
Passengers: 500 (engineers, pilots, gunners, observers, etc.)
Cargo Capacity: 500 metric tons
Consumables: Two months

Using what is given above see if you guys can build something that would work for the BT universe. I know that the limits on Space Stations and such will cause some issues but I am certain that some of you can find creative ways around them...

Even if i make it as big as possible it will have a diameter of 1,4 km at maximum with a crew of about 700.
500 tons of cargo would be a joke and this station would be anything but MOBILE!!! Wink
If you want a mobile station it has to be small enough to be docked on a jumpship or tug.
I´LL try one.

No fluff as i don't know much about your universe.
With its heavy directed anti ship weaponry it can be stationed in a direct line with a star and one of its jump points. It is equipped with a collector sail and can use its drive to hold position while its nose points towards the jump point!
So any enemy will get a nasty surprise!

I know the limits of space stations in the BT universe...they are really no better in design then some of the ones that have made the drawing boards at NASA etc...the idea here is to find ways around those limits with some creativeness and color...

And 500 tons of cargo means that the station like any other military base or ship would have a supply train...hence a weakness.

You asked for a Death Star and you've been given a Death Star. Sure, theoretically it can be easily destroyed, but it will cause some real hell till then.

72 fighter with space for 144 if you simply reassign the Cargo bays, and as the primary cargo bay can handle this extra load when considering resupply... why not.

The 50 docking give UBER flexibility. And if you use the Monitor rules... you just brought between 12 and 50 heavy hitters. If not, a few assault dropships, some Interceptors, and some Shiphunter fighters.... walla!

The main guns are capable of a combined power of 1242 pts of damage. That will crack any ship to my knowledge and cause some nice ass damage on a planet unlucky enough to be targeted for bombardment.

Overall, i was impressed with my creation.

Yes I got what I asked for pretty much...was hoping for some very creative ways around the stations lack of manuvering engines etc...but still I knew someone would go the ship route.

Nice job to both of you and if it's possible could you post or email me the HMA files?
