Apparently the Chinese firm who supplied the paint to be used allowed for an incredible amount of lead to be in there.

With my experience with chinese toy design I would rather chew a hegehog. Many of their lower quality toys are easy to break and full of sharp corners. The paint is just a cherry on the cake top.
