The goal this time: a cavalry tank.

Inner Sphere level 1 tech preferred, but not required.
Minimum speed is 4/6 for tracks, 5/8 for wheeled vehicles, and 7/11 for hovers.
Cost is not a factor.
Must include at least minimal anti-infantry capability.

Have fun and good luck!

Can it be a calvary command tank?

A light tank that we use since the vehicle rules came out!
With some new fluff:

Code:

                      VALIDATED

Type/Model:    Wild Weasel Light Tank
Tech:          Inner Sphere / 3025
Config:        Tracked Vehicle
Rules:         Level 1, Custom design

Mass:          25 tons
Power Plant:   150 Scarborough Fusion

Armament:
  1 Lords Light PPC
Manufacturer:  Scarborough Manufacturers
  Location:    Al Na'ir
Communications System:  Scarborough Talky-2
Targeting & Tracking System:  Scarborough Tracky-2

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
As the DCMS called for a new calvary tank in 3025 Scarborough Manufacturers
answered with their first non-hover vehicle: the tracked Wild Weasel Light
Tank.

==Capabilities:==
Scarborough made the uncommon decision to use a rare fusion engine to design a
light and fast tank with a heavy weapon.
Due to that fusion engine the 25 ton tank can achieve a maximum speed of 97
kph in open terrain and 119 kph on roads.
The Wild Weasel carries an unexpected heavy type of weapon: a single
turret mounted PPC.
The minimum range can pose a problem but the designers thought it fast enough
to keep its distance.
The armor isn't that massive but was considered sufficient.

==Variants:==
Some vehicles that survived the 4th Succession War were modified with new
technology.
An ER large laser and two heat sinks replaces the PPC to gain range and negate
the minimum range  at the cost of some firepower.
The turret was lightened and 5 tons of the new ferro-fibrous armor now protect
its frame.

==Deployment==
Scarborough only delivered a small series of 40 vehicles to the DCMS and some
mercenaries deemed worth it.

Here's an idea. I like the ECM variant in particular. Why give the enemy the luxury of knowing the cavalry is coming?

BattleTech Vehicle Technical Readout
VALIDATED

Type/Model: Jayhawker
Tech: Inner Sphere / 3060
Config: Tracked Vehicle
Rules: Level 2, Standard design

Mass: 40 tons
Power Plant: 240 Pitban Fusion
Cruise Speed: 64.8 km/h
Maximum Speed: 97.2 km/h
Armor Type: Durallex Medium Standard
Armament:
2 BlazeFire Longshot ER Medium Lasers
2 Federated 5-Shot LRM 5s
2 GM MiniGun Machine Guns
Manufacturer: Beckwood Manufacturing
Location: New Avalon, FS (BWM)
Communications System: Fox Cry 110 with Wave Amplifier
Targeting & Tracking System: Fox Fury 230 Dual Lock

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The Jayhawker is a simple tank design currently being mulled over by
Beckwood. While unlikely to ever see full production, the design is at least
rather interesting. Designed as an ambush and cavalry tank, the Jayhawker is
quite quick for its size, and features respectable, if not incredible
firepower.

==Capabilities:==
Designed around the Pitban 240 rated fusion engine, the Jayhawker is a
quick tank, capable of matching some light Battlemechs. In open terrain, the
unit functions well as a skirmisher, usually being able to outrun things it
cannot outshoot.
The weaponry on the Jayhawker is somewhat sparse, but undeniably
effective. A pair of Blazefire Longshot extended range medium lasers are the
tank's main weapon. These alone help the Jayhawker outgun standard Vedette
tanks. Backing up the lasers for long range support are a pair of Federated
5-Shot LRM launchers, which enable the Jayhawker to harass at a distance.
Finally, for anti-infantry work, the Jayhawker carries a paif of GM Miniguns
controlled by the driver, and mounted on the front of the chassis.

==Variants:==
If the Jayhawker is ever produced, it is likely that an altered version
will be seen on the battlefield. Current ideas include the replacement of the
machine guns for either a Guardian ECM or rocket launchers. The idea of adding
an active probe was tabled as well, but seen as unpopular.
Another idea is switching the LRMs to SRMs, and adding a single Rocket
Launcher 10, while removing the machine guns. This enables the Jayhawker to
carry Inferno rounds as well as standard rounds, but makes ranged combat
impossible.

Type/Model: Koku Light MRM Tank KMRM-1
Tech: Inner Sphere / 3060
Config: Wheeled Vehicle
Rules: Level 2, Custom design

Mass: 35 tons
Power Plant: 190 DAV Gas Turbine I.C.E.
Cruise Speed: 64.8 km/h
Maximum Speed: 97.2 km/h
Armor Type: Durallex Light Ferro-Fibrous

Armament:
1 Bulldog Minigun Machine Gun
2 Shigunga MRM 10s
Manufacturer: Bulldog Enterprises
Location: Prosperina, Northwind
Communications System: O/P R Janxiir
Targeting & Tracking System: Xilex-2000

Overview:
The Koku was developed to replace the Striker with a local Combine tank. The Clan wars had devastated many local militias and main line armor units. In an effort to staunch the onslaught many FS border worlds were stripped of their better equipment. Warlords of the Benjamin and Galedon wanted to have some sort of protection against Davion treachery.

Capabilities:
The Koku was designed as a first responder or clean up unit. Also planned for deployment as militias the complexity had to be kept to a minimum. To meet the response requirements and simple they decided on a fast wheeled missile platform.

Bulldog Enterprises of the border world Proserpina eagerly came forward with the design in short order. The only new development needed was a DAV 190 Gas Turbine engine. ICE was decided for cost and function reason.

But the engine is the heart and soul of the Koku. With main line Mechs able to eclipse 80 kpm the old Striker speed was deemed too slow. Able to get almost 100 kph over land that makes a mighty 115kph on the road, the Koku is a surprise to many since it does not give a fusion signature. This allows movement between cities to be fast. Also for the Koku to get into position quickly.

Almost everything else from the Xilex T&T system to the Machine gun was built on Proserpina. A few other items like the Duarllex Ferro Fiberous armor came form other planets but from FS border worlds. Shingunga set up a small plant on Proserpina to build the low end MRM10.

Based on a simple point and shoot a company of Koku's can easily put 240 missiles into the air in a single volley. Even though very inaccurate, and compounded by militia crewman, the volume of fire can deny an area to an attacker. The MG is a pest removal system for roadblocks and rioters.

The Armor is considered weak but it was made with ferro-fiberous to give a little extra protection and make hte crews feel better. But as a first responder or clean up it is not expected to hold ground.

Variants:
None

Deployment
A few militia battalions have been placed on major planets along the FS-DC border.

A WoB pack hunter tank. Designed in theory to hunt in packs of 6. Tourney legal as per Total Warfare and TechManual.

The idea is a tank or group of tanks that move together and use coordination combined with high accuracy weapons to bring down targets, which is usually high speed light 'mechs. The LAC/5 carries two tons of ammo which will usually be loaded with Percision Ammo.

Targeting & Tracking System: Federated Stalker

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
In 3060, with the technological renaissance brought on by the Clan invasion,
Johnston Industries and the AFFC decided to once again explore the notion of a
jump capable hovertank.

The Star League's jump-capable Kanga hovertank was highly effective in combat.
While a hovertank's speed brings it about as close to a BattleMech's mobility
as a ground vehicle can come, jump jets would significantly enhance that
capability.

A jumping hovertank, however, had been designed only once before - that
process was neither cheap nor easy, and few records have survived the
Succession Wars. Nor could Johnston study an example of the Kanga - none are
known to serve beyond ComStar or the Word of Blake. The result is that
Johnston had not only to design a new armored vehicle, but an entirely new
technology.

Getting the bugs out of a new tank design in the first place can be a trying
process - needless to say, this process becomes much worse when one adds in
the development of a new technology. In an effort to ease this process,
Johnston split the development project - designated Stormfall - into three
parts: Phase I, the hovertank; Phase II, the jump jets; and Phase III,
integrating the two.

The FedCom Civil War, however, brought the development process to a near
stand-still while Johnston focused on producing as many current vehicles as
possible. As a result, the new AFFS has quickly become impatient with the time
and money already consumed by the Stormfall project.

Luckily for Johnston, Phase I of this project has just recently been
completed. Designated the Stormfall X, this new hovertank is now undergoing
trials on Salem. A platoon is slated for test deployment to the First
Federated Suns Armored Cavalry, a unit which makes heavy use of hovertanks,
and which can be expected to use them in combat.

==Capabilities:==
Though incapable of jumping, the Stormfall X remains a powerful hovertank.The
Stormfall X combines a speed of nearly 130 kph with a long-ranged energy
weapon - a Johnston built particle projector cannon. The PPC provides a heavy
punch, while its range ensures that no target can escape unless it is allowed
to do so. The PPC also avoids the possibility of ammunition depletion
rendering the tank helpless. The PPC is linked to an advanced targeting
computer, which should aid the tank at long range - and, in the future, when
it jumps. The Stormfall X also mounts a pair of Streak SRM 4 launchers, chosen
for their accuracy and ability to exploit armor breaches. These launchers also
serve to minimize the weakness of the PPC's minimum range. Supplementing the
primary weapons is a pair of machineguns, which serve primarily in the
anti-infantry role. Lastly is a Guardian ECM Suite, which protects the
Stormfall X from advanced targeting systems, and allows it to slip between the
elements of a C3 lance and break their targeting links.

The Stormfall X mounts six-and-a-half tons of ferro fibrous armor, double the
Knaga's protection. Of current weapons on the battlefield, only the heavy
gauss rifle can breach the Stormfall's armor with a single shot, and even then
it can only be done from the side. This heavy armor is supplemented by CASE
protection on the ammo bins, ensuring that the crew can survive an ammuntion
explosion.

==Deployment==
Despite its status as a testbed, the Stormfall X has itself proven to be quite
an effective combat machine. Plans are under way to rename the Stormfall X and
market it as a separate cavalry tank. The Stormfall X will likely be deployed
only to high profile, front-line units, where maintainance of its advanced
technology will pose minimal problems.

Sale of this interim vehicle will help defray the costs of the Stormfall
project and reassure the AFFS that the project is progressing and nearing
success. It will also, hopefully, make the project look successful enough to
keep the AFFS from canceling it and pulling their funding.

The first Guderian Heavy Tank was produced in 2742. The project according to specifications of SLDF produced a mobile vehicle with good long range firepower for use with mobile units to provide fire support. The tank fulfilled the expectations until the fateful battle on Santander V, Where many tanks fell to a trap created by pirates. Many tanks were destroyed at point blank range by infantry and vehicles waiting in ambush when the tanks crawled through overgrown hilly terrain. Guderian's were massacred, unable to flee or rely on support of SLDF 'Mechs. This required changes to basic design, replacing armor with Ferro-Fibrous plates and adding two sets of twin machine guns to provide at least minimal anti-personal defenses. With the technology level decrease in recent years the plating returned to less advanced composites, reducing the protection to dangerously low levels. Soon the losses drove the tank extinct, but some examples still remain in service today.

Guderian is a relic of bygone age. Powered by massive fusion engine that takes almost half of tank's sixty tons, the Guderian can move at speeds that surpass many medium 'Mechs. Armed with Fusigon Longtooth PPC and Holly LRM 10 rack the tank can cause heavy damage to heavily armored targets and Browning machine guns can shred opposing infantry. The main deficiency is it's short range armament, or the lack of it and light armor which make the tank vulnerable.

Most Guderians remain in service with ComStar and house Davion. None are in hands of house Kurita. Kuritan military officers despise the tank, because it rivals the Grand Dragon in firepower and some still prefer to destroy them wherever they find them. Davion armies used this to trick DCMS several times.

60t, 3025 tech, 5/8 speed, PPC turret, LRM 10 turret (12 salvos), 2 MG turret, 2 MG front (100 salvos), Armor front 20, sides 18, rear 12, turret 20.

EDIT: A littlebit more fluff added.

Thanks. It was just a quick idea, but it at least looks usable and is not without faults...

I think it's time we had some winners, eh?

StarRaven's Stormfall X and AWAD's Koku both take first and second place respectively, with Rudel Gurken's Wild Weasel and CO_17thRecon's Jayhawker tying for third.

At least one of Vagabond's Hyena tanks would have placed as well, if it weren't for their intended use by the Wobblies. (Sorry, buddy!)
