Something between CN9-A and CN9-D. Slow, but it can last for a while. The ammo load is overlarge, but remember that for AP and precision rounds you get only 5 shots per ton.

Nice modifications that make use of special ammo for the AC and the LRM's easy. One ton of additional armor and a CASE make it hard to take down especially with that standard engine.
The overall look seems to show a field upgrade but the ES requires a complete disassembly of the whole mech! I don't think that an IS power would commission that as a new factory variant.

Not that hard to execute actually. The ES structure with CASE panels already installed comes from CN9-D, you only replace the engine, AC and lasers. Usable weapons will be probably stolen as soon as the wreck is moved to the scrap yard and with those 8.5 tons of armour and XL you can imagine it yourself, how many new cents end there with critical engine damage...

Or you could just order the skeleton from the manufacturer. It's less work on them to just ship a skelly out for you to finish, and they can still make a profit on it. It seems like a "standard but missing stuff" is just another factory variant in those cases where you are buying new.

What company is going to complain about you asking them to do LESS work?

RE the Design: Good use of the cannon and other weaponry, but too slow for my tastes. And yet, I imagine cranking it up to 5/8 would be no picnic. *goes to check on that*

Yeah, it does NOT like going 5/8. Forces you to sacrifice a lot, even with Ferro. Could be done with a light engine, tech level and funds permitting.

Hmmm... I've seen it as an upgrade of the CN9-A and not as a "downgrade" of the CN9-D!
But as CO_17thRecon said the chassis wouldn't be much of a problem to get ones hands on!
So I will retract my former comment! Wink

It is called value add. If you make 3% on the chassis but 15% on the system which is better for the company? And if you have a limited number of Chasis which would you do? Trust me I sell compenants but work with people that sell modules. Of course final clients want both for nothing.

AWAD- tries not to put too much real world in BattleTech.

I really like this but not the ammo has me concerned. Carrying other types of ammo is cool but that much. Even with CASE anything that gets through the armor has a good chance to set off the ammo. Interesting that you did not reverse the rear firing ML.

But I never allow a Endo refit. That is a new chasis, thus mech. So I like it but can not swallow it.

AWAD- Love the Centurion no matter how you slice it.

Factory... umm I'll think about that, but I fluff designs for TRO, here I post concepts.

Slow? Yes, but what do you want from the old engine... The Idea was to get an AC/10 with special ammo supply to field, using second-hand equipment, not making a new 'Mech.

Endo chassis... As I said it's not 9A refit. All Centurion models made since 3050 TRO use ES chassis, so standard may not even be in production.

Less work... Mercantilism anyone? Wink

Too much ammo... seriously how would you rate a 'Mech with main gun that has 10 shots and does 10 damage? And why do you think that I installed one more ton of ammo on Torso? Remember that Cent can fire the AC at long range with good chance to hit moving targets thanks to precision ammo, so it will use up some of the ammo before the enemy closes. If you don't have special ammo at hand you can always leave one of the ammo bins empty.

I would use following AC ammo:
10 shots of standard ammo
5 shots of precision ammo
5 shots of armor piercing ammo

for a total of 20 shots!

Yeah, but try that with 2 tons of ammo. You would have to mother your special ammo and the benefit from it would be much smaller.
