For those that do not remember, the Longshot was one of several mechs introduced with the original Solaris VII boxed set.

I was always interested in this design, but found the original version to be fairly useless. I was never impressed by the NARC beacon as a concept, and mixing ammo and XL is usually not a good thing.

The small lasers of the original have been swapped out for CASE. This provides additional protection for the mech. The NARC has been traded out for an LRM 5 (token long-range punch) and a medium laser (compensation for the lost smalls).

The 2B version would have a flamer instead of the arm-mounted medium.

Nice job. I have done similar things to the Solairs mechs...some do make decent front line mechs.

Does nothing for me. Looking at the name the function does not work. Put an LRM15, and maybe an SRM2 for spite and keeping with some ofthe original SRMs, then for 35 tons this would be a surprise. Your design is OK for some Solaris Arenas, like Scrapyard and the Pool, but usless in more open.

AWAD- Loved old Solaris rule set.
