==Overview:==
The Crab was designed to be a medium raider and guerrilla fighter. First
built in 2719, fewer than 1,000 were delivered to their assignments. Initial
reports on the design were good, but the 'Mech's lack of hands and inability
to jump have reduced its usefulness as a raider.
The Crab possesses good overall speed and can survive for weeks without
resupply. All of its weapons are energy-based, which makes the Crab slightly
hotter to operate than other 'Mechs of its class.
==Capabilities:==
The CRB-35's armor protection is almost the best in its class. The 'mech
is especially well protected with Durallex Medium Armor.
The 'Mech's weapons systems are functional, but uninspiring. A Ceres Arms
"Warrior" ER-PPC,2 Ceres Arms ER-Medium Lasers, and 2 Ceres Arms Medium Lasers
make this medium class mech a well rounded mech for multi-role missions.
The cockpit is well-insulated from the heat of the engine and weapons.
Pilots appreciate the relative comfort of piloting a Crab. Care was taken to
ensure the CRB-35 also insulated it's pilot from the heat this unit
generates.
The Ceres SuperComm3 communications suit, and Ceres Bullseye-2 targeting
and tracking systems replace the original systems as they breakdown. The Ceres
SuperComm and Bullseye compliment each other with the same effect the Original
Equipment, except for of course the Ceres systems are triple-redundant and are
designed to keep functioning, even if one or two of the seven processors go
down. Unlike the original equipment, these systems can be repaired with
relative ease.
The 'Mech's ejection seat varies from the standard design. The pilot has
two methods of escape. If an explosion is imminent, the top hatch is blown
back and the seat is jettisoned through the roof of the 'Mech. Seat thrusters
stabilize the descent to a controlled fall, and the pilot lands roughly 200
meters from his machine. If no explosion is likely, the seat is rotated 90
degrees and fired out the back. The pilot will land 20 to 50 meters from his
'Mech after a much shorter and gentler ride. (This is unchanged in the
CRB-35)
==Variants:==
The Crab CRB-35 is a Modification to the Crab done by some of House Kurita's
Elite 4052nd Support Regiment , replacing the Large lasers with an ER-PPC,
Medium Lasers, and ER-Medium lasers, and replacing the cooling system with
Double rated Heat Sinks. This modification gives the Crab a little extra punch
and a longer reach than the standard Crab. Ceres Arms Smasher PPC and Ceres
Arms Medium lasers were chosen because of the ease of getting replacement
parts.

Ah! Too late!!
But better late than never!!
This Crab has still a standard engine! I like that very much! The weaponry is well choosen and keeps the energy-boat-character while gaining range.
It has enough heatsinks to keep up the pressure but without creating an alpha-striker. With some heat management it will cause no problems.
The only thing to complain about (not really actually!): I've seen the Crab as a Mech with two heavy weapons, one in each arm, and I'm not accustomed to this look! 
It is a well designed medium line Mech without much surprise. I think it will do well for what it is constructed.

Don't be that impatient... some people just need to ... yawn... get up, or come home.
The 'Mech isn't bad, but it has only one big energy gun. Medium laser backup is okay, but I'm not sure if it can make up for the second LL. It has the stamina necessary to endure a lot of fighting and withstand terrible damage. The only problem I can see are the ERMLs, which definitely aren't SLDF equipment.

aww... I should read the fluff more carefully. Still The ER medium lasers wre unavailable in 3055. FWL started producing them in 3058 and the others got their on them around 3060. I also wonder why Kurita 'Mech is armed with Ceres Arms weaponry (almost all factories are in CC or St. Ives compact hands).
(Just nitpicking, these things don't have any real significance, maybe the dates.)
