Overview:
Ground Zero came into possession of around two dozen worn out Wolverine medium mech. The machines had been replaced by newer models and designs in their former militaries. Designers with GZT took a look at the mechs, and decided to attempt create a fairly inexpensive medium mech with a similar weapons lay out. So, for just under 4 million c-bills a piece, mercenary units and minor powers can now purchase the 45 ton Astartes. Bulk purchases are encouraged.
Capabilities:
The Astartes mirrors the function and layout of the parent Wolverine design very closely, while shedding 10 tons in the process. The weapons and ammunition are now molded and mounted with a more modular design. The Autocannon can be dropped from the mech's right hand, and the ammo "clips" on either side can also be jettisoned together or individually if need should arise. The SRM launcher and ammunition can be discared in a similar manner. The cannon in the mechs right hand is an Ultra class autocannon five, with 40 rounds stowed in two 20 round clips, one on either side of the weapon. A martel medium laser sits atop the crown of the mech, and a standard SRM 6 pack is perched on the left shoulder. The Astartes has similar movement capabilities to the Wolverine, though it carries two fewer jump jets. Armor is standard and the engine is not an extralight. Heatsinks are single as well. This was done in an attempt to lower the over all cost and maintanence of the design. CASE is installed in each torso for added protection from an ammunition explosion should one occur. The CASE has been integrated with the Endosteel structure.
Configuration / Variants:
There have been several discussions with following the vein of several of the Wolverines standard variants, such as using a standard Autocannon, or a large laser instead of the ultra cannon, and beefing up the secondary weaponry or armor.

Deployment:
The Astartes has just completed testing, and is now available for wide spread distribution.
