Okay, I'm still adjusting to the new forums & all. What's CBT that Jymset said to check out to see the new Warhammer?
How do I get an image below my name like everyone else does? Can I use my own image?

CBT would refer to classic battletech, Werner's website, I'm thinking.
As for pictures under name, I have *no* idea. It's Old Dog, not Tech Bunny.
That being said, the one is a war mech, sure, but it ain't no Warhammer. Such a sad misuse of the name!
As for the tech thing, here's a question for y'all: Do the books use Level 3 tech yet? There's a couple of minor things in there that I'd like to use, but I'm not sure if they're really 'legal' or not.
Just curious ...

Um...that's Warner, not Werner
And you are correct...the official Classic BattleTech website, and where I help moderate at...

Think of it this way...it's a mod of the Warhammer-6D from the 3025 days...it's a BIT easier to stomach that way...
Doesn't make me like it anymore though...

| Let me clear this up. ClassicBattleTech.com is FanPro's English version site. I am the caretaker for it among other things. Its not mine. Mine is WBU-BT.com which is about to be replaced with FreeCapella.com

| It is not a Warhammer? Then explain the Davion's version of the Warhammer, the 6D. It has no SRM 6, no machine guns and only has 2 ppcs, 2 medium lasers and 2 small lasers, 20 heat sinks and max armor. And this is a Warhammer and the 9D is not? Why because it jumps and has an XL engine? This improvement just made the Warhammer even better and even deadlier. With the TarComp combined with the ER PPCs and the speed of this machine, just made it a great machine for a fast strike team or fast heavy cavalry unit. You don't have to have a dozen weapons on 'Mech to make it deadly. Speed, firepower and maneuverability do. A lance of these would a monster to stop. A lance of these against a lance of old 6Rs would kill them with ease. Heck, I believe this would pound the snot out of Summoner now.

I think the Summoner Alt D kills the Warhammer 9D seven times out of ten.
Full jump and fire all weapons for
exactly no heat build-up? Yay! It`s
probably the machine that inspired
the creators of the 9D?

I agree with you. If it's still the same design, but with a major weapon replaced, it's still the same design. I've heard no complaints over the Kuritan Shadow Hawk that traded out the AC for a PPC. It's still a Shadow Hawk, but with a different signature weapon. Or, there's my thread on the Commando. I was told that it wasn't good simply because I removed the SRM-6 launcher. Big deal. Yes, that's a loss on damage, but a big gap in range- it can now take out most of the 3025-era light and some of the medium mechs with only one or two shots at a distance, while three of the standard models act as a close-in screen. It's not a different mech, just different tactics. I mean, by this same argument, the 3025 Locust and Stinger are the same unit- they mount the same weapons mix, and are the same tonange.
This new Warhammer, to me, screams 'I'm a sniper!' It's not munch if it's used like that.
