I just looked at the numbers. Keep in mind the default setting when you sign-up is Threaded mode. It's my preferred style, so I force it onto others at the start.
With that said, there are 174 members who use Flat mode viewing and 360 who use Threaded. That's more than a 2:1 advantage for Threaded viewing. So the numbers definitely support the like for Threaded viewing. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and re-implement it.

I guess that Ctrl+C ... won't fix everything?

Wouldn't it technically be 3.0? Coulda sworn we were already using 2.0.
Or is this actually only 1.5?

I would never get rid of Flat viewing. I like the way threaded is implemented here versus how I've seen other Mods to phpBB doing it. Not to sound egotistical, but the way I did it is 100 tmes better.
phpBB 2.0 features a host of new features which could present problems for me trying to incorporate it, but I'm sure I'll manage to work through those.

If you look at the bottom of the pge there is a version of 1.5.3. It's kinda loose as I didn't stick to it near the end. But now that I've got a test environment online where I can do actual testing of changes, it should be easier now.

What are your system, OS, and browser specs? I've not had any slow scrolling on it as of yet, on any of the 3 comps and 5 browsers I tried it on
For the most part, everything works perfect in all 5 browsers. Had a couple issues using Opera under Linux... but I had the same issues with a few other boards using similiar layout.. so likely its Opera. These issues concern the menu, and they happen on this version of the site as well.

Then you shouldn't be having problems... UNLESS...
Its likely an extension, some of the extensions are buggy that way, like the CSSEdit... especially with 1.0.7. Hence my upgrade to 1.5

What about a button that can change from threaded to flat and vice versa without logging in and out or changing something in a profile???

That's what I'm thinking. It would stay in that mode until your next session or you hit the button to go back the other way.

If you use IE is it still sluggish? I know, I hate IE myself, but if it works in IE than we know it is a FF issue.

Using IE seems to remove the problem. I'll try updating to the latest version of FF.
