For the most part, everything works perfect in all 5 browsers. Had a couple issues using Opera under Linux... but I had the same issues with a few other boards using similiar layout.. so likely its Opera. These issues concern the menu, and they happen on this version of the site as well.

It's the same menu system, just implemented differently, so that doesn't surprise me. Wonder what Opera doesn't like about it. Can you tell me what it does? Maybe email me some screen shots?

Instead of sliding out nice and smooth for the sub menus, it moves them out really laggy in fits and spurts. Like it will come out a quarter of the way, then a couple hairs, then a little more, then the rest of the way out. Dunno why its doing it. Especially since Konqeror and Mozilla and Firefox all work fine and dandy under Linux. Maybe it uses a different library than they do or something.

It's a little sluggish for me as well. Not enough to make me dislike it though. The reason for the sluggish scrolling is the transparency setting which allows the background image to bleed through the page. Transparency uses memory, and my system is 7 years old or so. I've only got 384 megs of RAM. So I'm betting your system isn't much better than mine. My work laptop (which is obviously much newer) works fine.

Oddly enough my laptop (what I'm on most of the time) only has 256MB of ram, and has no problems. But then its DDR too....

Couple questions though.

2. Is there plans for a Warship Tro at any time?
3. And will our custom Avatars just move right over as well?

If I remember correctly, I think Mordel our full profiles transfer over. You just have to edit your profile there to get things to show because of a new field that has to get set for that site.

Currently, when a topic gets anough replies threaded it stretches the whole panel out. Could you make the thread list a seperate panel so it don't stretch the message and menu portion? That would rule. I hate having to scroll to read the messages. This way the thread panel can scroll all it wants and not bother the message display.

Yes, that would be nice, but Mordel may have something else ready. I must admit that I find threaded mode much better than flat.

I like threaded better because you can see at the first glance who had answered whom!
But if i like to read through a whole topic i hit the "logout" button to change to flat!
Thats faster!

What about a button that can change from threaded to flat and vice versa without logging in and out or changing something in a profile???

Well, I was going to let folks keep their post counts, but remove all the old posts. So essentially we would be starting from scratch. Unless you can think of a reason why I should bust my balls trying to save what we've got here. May not be that hard, but I'm not 100% sure as I haven't even looked at that yet.

There's nothing you NEED to edit on the new site. I added Profile fields for Country, State, etc. If those aren't already filled in for you when the switch comes, you'll need to complete those for your name to appear in the Player Database. But it's not required.

If I remember correctly, I think Mordel our full profiles transfer over. You just have to edit your profile there to get things to show because of a new field that has to get set for that site.

I've tried throwing more color in here and there. Mostly Blues and Yellos, some red. But it is mostly gray.

1) In time, but not right away. I want to get the new layout done and then I can start work on some of those things.
2) See answer to #1
3) Avatars, Rank, Etc will all slide on over.

Threaded/Flat is an interesting topic. As you know, phpBB doesn't support Threaded out of the box. I spent a lot of time tweaking these forums to get threaded to work.

Which means I'll have to do all the work over again if I want to get Threaded to work here as well. But that's something to worry about when I get to the Forums, which will be the last thing I implement.

If I do do them, I'll most likely put the Thread list inside of an IFRAME so that will scroll and won't affect the rest of the page. And the option to quickly switch between Flat and Threaded is a good one as well.

I just looked at the numbers. Keep in mind the default setting when you sign-up is Threaded mode. It's my preferred style, so I force it onto others at the start.

With that said, there are 174 members who use Flat mode viewing and 360 who use Threaded. That's more than a 2:1 advantage for Threaded viewing. So the numbers definitely support the like for Threaded viewing. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and re-implement it.
