I´ve had english in school but most of it i´ve learned by reading BT-material! (no kidding!)!
The german translations of the first BT-boxes were so terrible that i choosed to buy the originals! (They even translated almost all Mech-names into german! Some of them are really weird!)

Du meinst Kampftitan oder Dunkelfalke
(I hope there aren't some gramatic mistakes)
Actually there are few names translated to Czech too (those from BT 4th edition box).
And Czech is said to be difficult to learn.

Genau! Oder erst Todesbote!
(no gramatic mistakes! )
I´ve never understand why every Mech in a mostly english speaking universe must have german (or czech!) names.

Blame business strategies...
But I'm not sure if it helps, because the names are usually weird, but some of my early attempts to pronounce English words sounded similar
And I must admit that Battletech, D&D and cartoons stand behind the basics of my English too

It's like remaking the Mauler. It's kinda hard to not improve on crap.
