Hmm standard plinker is somewhat strange, I think there can be found better chassis for single AC/2. I would like to hear the reason to mount experimental mechanical jump boosters on slow, fusion engine equipped machine. The weapons aren't too useful in the city... well they aren't too useful any where else... and utility mech chassis is quite fragile... I dunno if I would use this, maybe target practice or training?

I agree with SD. a not very effective mech as a plinker. It's a good idea. and with a little twinking it should be a good mech. for starters. add some jump jets. so it can easily get into position to start plinking. and can get away from charging mechs while being harder to hit.

..until then...

set up a couple of them ... my stinger pilot needs target practice...

The Class 2 autocannon is a very inefficent weapon for the weight. you would be much better off using that 7 tons for either 5 LRM 5s and 2 tons of ammo or 3 LRM 5s and an SRM 2 plus a ton of ammo for each type of system.

Be cautious! On an ICE-Mech even non-energy-weapons do heat! And you get no free HS with this engine!

Plinker 3a has the most potential. Remove the jump jets and use the tonnage for more RL's (good cheep weapons that are easily reloaded in an urban environment), or down grade the engine (recreating the Urbanmech) and use that mass for RL's. RL's are definitely the way to go for a dirt cheap, low tech, low maintenance cost urban suppression/protection mech....you could add a couple...3...or even 4...Machine guns and a flamer for infantry suppression. Idea is great...keep pliinkin'...

I would suggest using RL 10s, for the same range you'll get more missiles and for some reason they have better range. I would stay with that I.C.E. powered variant if you want something really cheap.

For 3a I would replace Jump boosters with standard JJs, again install RL 10s and use remaining tonnage for MGs or some backup laser weapon.

Well, there cheap, I'll give you that much. some of them are close to the Prianna design. But far less speed. which (IMHO) is a quick death for them
