I seem to remeber that in the Crusades, most of the European casualties were from heat exhaustion...
Personally, I prefer mobility over protection, but then again I don't have to step into the path of incoming fire.

I like mobility better too. Plus I'm a crappy runner to begin with, so more weight equals slow, equals shot in the head.
