Does a vehicle lose MP when it tows a trailer? And what is the most, say a 100 ton Tank can tow? (example can a 100 ton tank tow a 100 ton trailer with no movement loss, and 2 100 ton trailers with minimal loss?)

Just some basic info I need for a tank I am working on.

It depends. Vehicles with the "Tractor" motive option are able to deliberately increase their engine rating in order to pull more weight with no slowdown.

For example, a 15-ton tracked vehicle needs a 60-rated engine to move 4/6. If it were to increase the engine rating to 120, it could pull a second 15-ton tracked vehicle (that has the Trailer motive option) with no loss of MP. At least, that's how I understand it.

Hmm Ok that makes sense. I am trying to equate it to modern day trucking I guess. A 8K truck can haul up to what 80K in the trailer? So was wondering if the Abrams ever pulls anything and if so what can it pull weight wise.

Warhammer has it correct to a degree. I will simplify.

Any vehicle with a trailor hitch can pull a trailor. To figure the units new movement, divid their engine rating by the combined weight of the tractor and trailor.

so if a 100t tank pulls a 100t trailor, you now have a 200t unit. If said tank has a 400 engine, you now move 2/3 instead of 4/6.

Then you have Tractors:
"Tractors, unlike other vehicles, can have a larger engine than is normally required to move the vehicle at the desired speed. This is done so that the engine has reserve power for pulling one or more trailers behind it. Therefore, you can set the desired engine size, within limits. Of course, you cannot reduce the engine below that required to move the vehicle at the selected Cruise MP." -HMVee
