------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The original chassis was a marginal SLDF LAM, and about 7 of the original
chassis remain. However, 5 have been upgraded to the shown configuration.

The SLDF experimented with the original design, and due to the dissolution of
the Star League, was never continued. Due to a computer error, the company
worth of design was put aboard a dropship mech carrier. They found their way
into a vault somewhere in Clan Space.

Around 3055, a group of clan techs from Clan Snow Raven unearthed the designs
and with new technology, turned them into what they were meant to be-a fast,
stealthy scout, yet with a terrific punch. By time the LAMs were complete,
several new technologies were added from 3055 to completion.

It is certainly a design to be feared, even if it is a 'scout' mech. While it
may have started as a weak mech, it certainly is capable to behold now.
However, it takes no small amount of resources and manpower to modify into this
mech from the original. In fact, any future productions of this mech are bound
to be easier if it is build from scratch.

The pilots of the machines were picked from their sibkos early, based on those
of mechwarriors and aerofighter pilots who showed potential expertise in both
fields. Unlike the LAMs at Falcon Eyrie, these LAMs are piloted by one
warrior, removed the need for a dual cockpit and the loss of honor for sharing
a machine.

Since it is controlled by one pilot and is such a significant investment in
technology, it is equipped with a neurohelemet designed specifically for the
vehicle. The helmet allows the pilot to keep his sole neurohelmet on during
both flights.

The vehicle is designed for extended operations; it carries a 20KG store of
food and water in the cockpit (the mech has full head ejection). Furthermore,
the designers went as far to put bomb/missile hardpoints on the mech's wings,
giving it even more potential punch.

==Capabilities:==
First, the engineers decided to upgrade the mechs frame. So, the set about to
find a 275-rated XL engine to replace the obsolete Star-League version which
had inferior shielding and heat problems. The next big step was upgrading the
faulty gyroscope to a better model. By now, the 5 mechs that they were working
on were pretty much torn open, so they decided to upgrade the structure to
endo steel and the armor to ferros-fiberous. This gave the designers less
space, but more weight to work with.

Like (seemingly) the rest of the chassis, the jumpjet ports had been clogged
overtime, and the original designers had used poor overheating models; made
like the Anderson Propulsion Model 24s from Catapults. Instead, Clan Series
Type 4 Heavy Jump Thrusters were used. With that, the engineers decided to
replace the myomer to a newer version, just to be on the safe side. The only
original component was the stealth system, which had been, mercifully,
preserved perfectly. Despite this, it was optimized for 20% better
heat-stealth efficiency.

Next, the weaponry was upgraded. The original design had a single Diverse
Optics Type 21 Large Laser and a pair of Diverse Optics Type 18 Medium Lasers.
The techs decided that a pair of powerful Korlibri Delta Series Large Pulse
Lasers were to be the mechs offensive power, one in each arm. The choice of
Large Pulses gave the mech a considerable engagement range, and the rate of
fire and accuracy of Pulse Weapons makes them an excellent weapon for the
mech. While two Large Pulse Lasers seems light for a clan mech of 55 tons, it
is usually more than sufficient.

Sixteen Double Heat Sinks allow the mech to keep its Null Signature System on
perpetually, and also fire both of its weapons and move at top speed without
overheating. In addition to the mech's flying capacity, it has a Jump Range of
150 Meters, allowing the mech to have great mobility even in Mech mode.

To keep the mech safe, it mounts 92% of the maximum armor that they could fit
on its frame. Unless the designers wished the drop some of the payload, the
mech would have to lose a small amount of armor. However, this is hardly a
weakness, as many mechs of a similar weight mount a bit less.

To enhance the already present electronic warfare qualities, an Angel ECM,
Watchdog Active Probe, and a TAG were added by the engineers. The combination
of the Angel and the NSS made the mech practically invisible.
The Watchdog added more to the mechs jamming capacity, and also served as a
powerful Active Probe, as the mech needed a set of 'eyes', ever better than
the design's original sensor suite (admittedly, the sensors were merely
upgraded, and they were excellent already; now they are better).

Finally, as a general-purpose signal and support designator, a head mounted
TAG system was included. If the pilot needs to relay a signal fast and
powerful, in a couple minutes the pilot can activate a program inside the mech
which links the mech's comm system, TAG and the Right Arm Large Pulse Laser,
and charges for roughly 10 seconds. It then discharges the Large Pulse Laser,
and instead of firing a beam of laser-machine gun energy bullets, it unleashes
a powerful signal, which can be picked up from considerable distances if
launched in space.

==Battle History:==
So far, the LAMs have only seen trial runs and simulators. In combat they have
proven exceedingly difficult to at range, due to the NSS and ECMs. Against
fighters, it is a rather slow design, but enemy pilots seem to have serious
problems tracking the LAMs.

It looks great, but would the clans use Null signature system? (well, it's mech for special forces, so they would probably do so )

I wouldn't be allowed to sleep so much if I didn't have answers for some questions

Edit: FAMOUS!?! Where exactly?

DAMN IT!

All hope went away and I missed it.

I'm doomed, DOOMED!

(well, it would use more weapons)
