Some of you may remember my original Apocalypse Class Battleship. This is a much better version.

Note-- I don't expect it to be considered practical. Just a ship with a s**t load of guns...

==Overview:==
The Apocalypse Class Battleship, if ever built, would be a fearsome ship with
an incredible amount of firepower. If built, it would be an estimated 25
Billion C-Bills (plus HNGC Ammo, fuel, crew wages (which are high), maintenance,
fighter upkeep, the HPG 'liberated' from a destroyed Smoke Jaguar vessel and
the top-of-the-line-extra-reliable KF Drive (and the specially designed
Lithium Fusion Battery that allows the ship to make 2 jumps in extreme rapid
succession, allowing 60 lightyears to be crossed in an hour). It can either charge from the main reactor or a detachable sail.

Its a full Kilometer long, and 700 meters wide and tall, and the whole ship
has gravity, thanks to 2 massive, 800 meter diameter grav decks. These are
subdivided into 50 sections which are independently operated. However, the
ship uses 2 central gravity systems, and battle damage to one central system
will knock out all its sub-systems.

It can also accommodate 50 1st Class Passengers.

However, it can only hold 2 dropships and 10 shuttles, but this is only a itty
bitty setback...

==Capabilities:==
Its primary arments, with enough firepower to vaporize whole fleets in one
volley, consists of 25 Heavy Gauss Rifles split into 5 gun bays, each with 250
slugs. To cover the Aft and Fore sections, 4 HNPPCs, split into 2 gun bays,
provide powerful (But comparatively modest) covering fire.

It is said that nothing can get within the range defense grid. An astonishing
1080 Series MK-3 ER Large Pulse Lasers mounted in 6-gun turrets can vanquish
anything that gets within their range. Because of this, only 'plinking'
weapons like the AC/2 can hit the ship without return fire, and this is at
their very maximum range. 108 Diverse Optics Type 20 LAMSes (mounted in
6-array batteries) allow the ship and nearby fighters to be practically immune
to missiles.

(Game effect- Any enemy missile fire in the hex of the ship is targeted by a
LAMS if the LAMS battery is not firing at a salvo aimed at the ship)

As if this wasn't enough, a full regiment of Aerospace Fighters lies within
the hull of this behemoth. These can enhance the already ungodly defense grid,
or to take out and pursue any stragglers. The size of this fighter compliment
means that they are a formidable force on their own.

Internally, 10 Platoons and 24 Battle Armor suits provide security to key
parts of the ship. A 500 ton defense grid restricts and interdicts access to
the engine and KF drive areas, bridge, and firing computers, and weapons
battery, with twined Micro Pulse Lasers arranged in heavy pop-down turrets
with an integral DHS (found in large clusters guarding the said locations).
The rest of the ship has Laser MGs in pop-down turrets, providing defense.

I have, however, gotten 12,000 in a station.

I've also gotten a 1/5 of a million civilians in a station...

Nice ship. However, you NEED A LOT MORE DOORS. You can only launch 2 craft/door/turn...it'll take several days to launch you're fighters.

Any comments on the Apocalypse?

Yes more doors are needed, but then again more are needed for ALL of the canon ships with fighters and no one has yet to explian why Hartford went with his ruling of 8 total doors.

Both ships fit the "look what I can do with the rules" line of thinking.

You may want to check again, in level 2 play you are only allowed 8 doors PER the AT2r rules.

IN level 3 rules you can have more doors, but then by doing so you remove the vessel from level 2 play and given that most folks won't let you use a level 3 unit in most games, it becomes a fine line on what you go with.

And I stick with the idea that both vessels are built with each of us trying to get a lot of something on the ships, be it guns or fighters, the point is we are entering into the land of Munchkins with things like this.

==Overview:==
The Apocalypse Class Battleship, a ship with incredible firepower, would
signal the dominance of the Warship industry if ever built. A massive 2.5
million tons and 2 kilometers long, a behemoth that makes even the mighty
McKenna look small. Its sail, a gargantuan 1.74 KM wide, can be retracted or
detached, and its titanic KF drive can be charged safely via the sail or
fusion reactor.

Costing an estimated 40.2 Billion C-Bills, it would cost an incredible amount
of money to build, but the power is so great, that the cost is merely
secondary compaired to the level of destruction it can cause. The ships
visage, covered with huge Naval Autocannons and so many Heavy Pulse Cannons,
can make whole battlefleet surrender without so much of a warning shot.

Mounting as many guns and as much of the highest quaility armor they could fit
on its frame, its insane firepower, durability, reliablilty, and the ability
to cross 60 lightyears in two jumps in a half hour period, the ship is a
marvel of modern technology.

Its fearsome profile could make even the most battle-hardend Captain break out
in desprate sweat in an attempt to assimilate the craft's profile and
weapon-coated hide. It also serves as a carrier; holding an aerospace
regiment, 10 dropships, and 24 small craft. However, these figures a drop in
the bucket compaired to its offensive firepower...

==Capabilities:==
For capital-ship rending, it carries 10 NAC/30s in the Front and Aft arcs, and
a massive 30 NAC/30s in either broadside arc, can vaporize the enemy quickly,
and it can be effectivly fired at up to Long Range. The devastating broadside
can, in one volly, vaporize practically any warship, including the mighty
McKenna. Provided that they survive and are foolish enough to stick around, a
second volley ensures death. A 200-shell bay for each gun means that the
firepower is ment to stay.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Front, Front L/R, Aft L/R, and Aft each
have 45 turrets, each of which houses a pair of linked Heavy Pulse Cannons and
a primary and backup gunner. These massive weapons have the firepower of 5 ER
Large Pulse Lasers, range, and heat profile. These powerful guns, 90 in each
arc, makes it suicidal to close, as each turret can annihilate a fighter if it
hits, and several turrets teaming up can destroy any dropship. Even a warship
in the range of this grid can be quickly destroyed, even without the NAC/30s
assissting.

Swatting missiles at an impressive rate, a grid of 40 LAMSes in each arc makes
firing missiles practically impossible. Only the largest barrage of missiles
can actually make it to the ship, and a barrage that large is likely to draw
the attention of a Heavy Pulse Cannon turret. The fighters aren't so much ment
as a defensive weapon, but more of an offensive weapon. In a massive fleet
enganement, where the ship shines, because it can CONSTANTLY fire EVERYTHING
it has, thanks to enough heatsinks to cool the output of all of its weapons
firing faster than normally possible. The fighters are usually ment to help
friendly warships, who have far less firepower.

10 Dropships and 24 Small Craft ferry supplies to and from the Warship.
Supplywise, the ship carries enough fuel to drive the ship for a year on 1G
thrust, but since its fuel banks are so large, it will often kick into
overdrive to keep pace with the faster ships in the fleet. A years worth of
food and water is carried for all personell, 820 Gunners, 450 Crewmen, 300
Officers, all of the pilots and bay personell and marines, all of which have
admirable long term quaters, plus the marine conigent.

220 Battle Armored Marines provide security on the vessel. Suited completely
in
Verteidig
er Battle Armored Suits
, they operate in squads. 160 of the Marines
have a fixed location to protect, a high security location. Each of the firing
arcs has 4 entrances, and a squad protects each of these and the gunners, ammo
bays, and guns themselves from sabatours and boarders. An additional 4
entrances to the KF Drive and Engine are guarded by a squad also, and both
entrances to the bridge, and the Food and Fuel supplies are just as guarded.

A whole 25 additional squads patrol the corridors, and all sectors of the
ship. However, these BA, in a pinch, could be deployed on the hull to attack
mechs and marauding Battle Armor and Mechs, but they are not suited for
anti-mech combat, and the Heavy Pulse Cannons are designed to automatically
target anything that gets too close to the hull, and are perfectly capable of
attacking anything that lands.

To ensure the ship survives, Lamellor Ferro-Carbide coats the ship in an
incredibly thick coating, with the Front and Aft being somewhat weaker than
the FL/FR and AL/AR, because the ship is designed for broadside combat.
However, even the weak spots have about three times the armor of the McKenna's
strongest points. The FL/FR/AL/AR mount about four times the McKenna's
strongpoints, and provided this fortress of armor is broken, the ship can roll
and give the enemy a whole new side to deal with.

All of the ships componets are extremly high quality and the best parts known,
the luxary insures that there are no lethal or major equipment malfunctions
and a spare parts bay, 1% of the ships mass allows it to operate on extended
missions without supply.

Carrying a Lilthium Fusion Battery and a HPG, nessesscities on such a large
and powerful warship, as it would not be complete without them. 400 Advanced
Escape Pods are provided, 53 of them actually are back-ups, in case everything
goes to hell and the ship is destroyed, the designers were not arrogant enough
to assume their design invincible, but this is as close as your going to get,
however...

==Battle History:==
The ships statistics have been run through a simulater. Using no naval
weapons, and assaulted from all sides, it took an incredible 127 Clan
Aerospace galaxies to actually penatrate the weakest armor. If naval weapons
were used against the squadrens, the may not have even taken so much as a
dozen hits.

Against warships and dropships, it was able to destroy several large fleets
before having to retreat.
