How many play online?

| I have Vengeance, Black Knight, and Mercs. I beat all of em on the campaign and I'll periodically play instant action. Never tried it online though. But I like the idea...

I've got all three, but I don't play online. My lack of the proper equipment (joystick, headset, etc) precludes me from being competetive online.

| yup i lack the joystick as well. The twisty stick gives u a massive advantage when circling enemies.

I have both but had to back them away for the last 2 years cause of collage and lack a personal computer if i could get the internet aceass workin at home id go for it

I have both, but I much rather play Mercs over Vengeance for the simple matter that Mercs has more to offer.
I've played a online before. Not much however. I like doing the mission games, but most of the time it's just FFAs or simple team slugfest are playing. At least for those that aren't using the MechTek addons anyways.
And I'd love to play in a Mordel member game, but I'm not quite sure how well a regular gaming night for it might work for me.

I was hoping for Mercs also for the same reason as Shadowking. You can pick up the whole "4" series as a bundle these days for 19 bucks new. (without the clan and IS mech add on packs- which I reccomend )
Perhaps every other monday nite 8pm to 11 pm eastern time. I would post a password here or perhaps email all interested parties ahead of time the password to get in the game.
Start off with a quick free for all to get everyone warmed up, then go into mission play for the nite. Maybe a team battle at the end to wrap it up.

I have played online and been very successfull and I've never used a joystick or headset. When messaging, just keep your typing short and to the point. Keyboard works just fine.
I've gone from Cable, back down to dial up so I have to figure out how hosting will be affected for large to larger groups.
If seriously interested, please sound off so we can plan a first nite practice session.

Just dial up still! Works just fine.
I'll have time to do both this month! I've been getting a lot of practice.
Anyway, you can't play. But if you get your son a PC, he's more than welcome!

I have MW4 and the Black Knight expansion. I can borrow a twist-stick but I dont have a whifty slide throttle to go with it. One day....then you will all feel my SQUIRRELY WRATH!!
Ive played online before. Mostly its just people taking big honking mechs and loading them down with gauss rifles and ppcs. I prefer something a little less 'nail-bat' in fashion.
The Team Attrition and Capture the Flag are my favorites, its not so much of a massacre, then. Theres actual tactics involved.
Who knows, maybe Ill be able to pull down three assault mechs with a modded Dire Wolf-S again.....

Why not?
The ATMs are especially nice. If nothing else, the MekTek stuff adds some variety.

Nah if im playing for points, i just run circles with the annoying Flea.  The amount of points i rack up, is worth far more than the deaths i take.
Load up on the smallest calibre low heat guns and keep shooting all over the place while dashing at max speed.

I wouldn't mind so much about the MekTek stuff if it didn't add so much 'other' stuff. While it's great to have all the extra mechs they provide, most of the equipment seems even more munchy than what is already in game. And I would really rather not deal with all the custom things they thrown in as well, both mech and equipment. If they are going to put in game, I'd much rather it be something that is actually IN battletech, than something that is not.
The other problem is that in order to play everyone using the MekTek games, you also have to have all those maps installed too. Which is not an easy download, provided you can even get them all.
And of course there also seems to be the problem that the MekTek patches are not compatible with the MS Addons. At least that's the problem I've had anyways.
