I like the name. I vote for Grillmaster!
And it has to carry a flamer.

Okay, one PPC and a flamer. I vote to reduce armor from max to a ton or two under max. It was started as a general purpose mech not a line mech. I put in another vote for a SRM system or two. I like 6's myself but depends on what room we have. That would give it both long and short range punch. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

Why not downgrade to a Large Laser. It's a bit cheaper, and easier on the heat sinks.
I vote single heat sinks.
Level one all the way baby!
A pocket assault design would be interesting too. Go for a 3/5 movement profile, and lots of armor and weapons.

Let's see what we get when everything is added up. A PPC, a flamer, SRMs, and now you want to switch the PPC for a large laser.
I say: if you switch the PPC then I want to add a big gun, like the AC/10. That's reasonable, isn't it?

How about doing a level one version of the mech first then consider how to upgrade it. I'll still go for the PPC. I'm not sure about the logic behind having a flamer, but i'm sure a use for it can be found. 3 SRM-2s sounds interesting. _________________ "My job is to keep the majority of people in this country alive. If you have a 'mech called Grillmaster, it's got to have a flamer.

O.K. Here's a rough draft, and we've still got 14.5 tons to add.
Grillmaster GRIL-2H
Tons: 60
Engine: 11.5 tons
Walk 4
Run 6
Heat sinks 10 (0 tons)
Cockpit 3
Gyro 3
Armor 10 tons
Weapons and Equipment
PPC 7 tons
SRM-2 x3 3 tons
SRM ammo 1 ton
Flamer 1 ton
Obviously we need some more heat sinks. I vote for jump jets as well, and maybe an AC/5

Just out on a limb here, but how about an AC/10 instead of a 5 or 2? We have the tonnage for that and two tons ammo plus a small laser or extra half ton of armor. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

heres my idea ppc ac5 2ton ammo aqnd 2streak 6 2ton A each this gives 2 distinct weapon profiles desiged to fire seperatly which means less heat sinks some small or med pulses would go well with ssrms if they can fit

Given the low speed we have, I'd say we should stick with a long range profile for the most part. What about an LRM-15 to back up that PPC? This gives you a better damage profile than a small autocannon.
Extra SRM ammo seems a bit superflorus.
The other option naturally is to speed the 'mech up a bit. What about jump jets? We need some more heat sinks too.

yes the lrm 15 has better dmg potential for near the same weight, but an ac 2 gives it character. we could say that the original config mounted a LL and 2 heat sinks but the heat generation caused during test fires caused neural feed back that caused many pilot sever nausia, so a low heat ac 2 was mounted instead. see character.
i suggested the extra ammo so inferno rounds could be mounted, but i can't remember if those are lvl 1 ammunition or not.
medium lasers are a staple in mech design, yet it would be cooler to create a design that did not use medium lasers. that is why, i suggested the small lasers. a sad alternative that again gives character. i say give it 1.
i agree we need heat sinks. i say add 2 to 4. no more. 2 in each leg, and the extra engine heat sink in the head. i say give it 3.
lastly, i say to be qwerky and odd lets add only 3 jump jets.

This 'mech is a bit slow for an AC/2 in my opinion. An AC/5 would probably be a better fit, and we have sufficient tonnage available.
We could add another flamer for close-in defense; becides, you don't need infernos with a 'mech carrying two flamers. I agree with nixing medium lasers.
We've got a spare half ton; lets use it for cargo space. Leave that head critical slot open for the kegs and the cooler. The flamers are center-torso mounted, but can be swung up so as to heat the grill that swings down in front of the cockpit. The pilot just opens the front face plate, and can grill from the comfort of his ejection seat
