The Major's head wound is deep, and difficult to heal...but not fatal. As soon as he lands, the ER team begins a blood transfusion, since his type is on file. They rush him to the OR and quickly begin to stabilize the broken skull fragments. They also extract a rather large armor shard. Later he is moved to the intensive care unit, in an induced coma.
Finally, he is moved to another ward and expected to regain conciousness soon. Quite soon...in fact...right now...
The Major first concious thought is the pain in his head. He tries to move his arm, but the response is sluggish. As he notices the slight drifitng feeling he finally pieces together that he must be badly hurt and probably on heavy medication. Slowly he forces his eyes open and the world begins to focus.
The first thing he notices is a woman with long red hair, pulled back tightly standing beside his bed. She smiles at him. "Good morning Major. I'm glad to see you recovered."
"Ma'am!" The Major attempts to salute, but only succeeds in hitting him in the head.
The woman shows true concern and puts his arm back to his side. "You should take it slowly. You've been out for a while. They induced a coma for a while to keep things like this from happening."
The Major had to ask. "It was head wound wasn't it? Will I be able to pilot a 'Mech again?"
The woman sat down on the bed. "I bet the doctor 10 pounds you'd ask that as soon as you were conscious. The answer is that I don't know. It'll be a few months before you can even leave hospital. When you do, then we'll see. Until then, don't give up hope."
"And if I can't pilot a 'Mech?"
She smiles. "Well, I hear that you always fancied being an aerospace pilot. If it's any conselation, Yvonne Davion won't simply abandon you after all you've done. If you can't pilot a BattleMech, I'm sure she'll find something for you."
The Major leaned back, throughly depressed about his future prospects. The woman got up and gave him a serious look. "I can't do more for you. For now, time will tell what will happen. I'll go down to the bar to let your friends know where you are and how you're doing. I'm sure they'll come visit from time to time."
She smiled. "And one last thing Major, you're a recon pilot in a 35 ton 'Mech. Please stick to reconaisance. No more heroic last stands." With that Marshall Harewood left the room.
Later she spent a small amount of time at the B&G filling in the regulars on the Major's condition and location.
OOC: Wow symbolism...sorta. That's about as deep as my writing gets.
Anyway, I think it's interesting. This is the first time a B&G character has been gone for any length of time, and yet was still accessible. The Major can't leave for a while, but feel free to come and visit.

While the Major is recovering from his wounds, the drama continues for Ronin and his cargo master in nearby trauma rooms.
Fortunately, the cargo master suffered only a few broken ribs on top of his bruises. He'll be taped up for a while, but other than that he's good to go. In fact, he's at the B&G enjoying free drinks when the news telecast comes on revealing Ronin's situation.
(televised from inside the hospital administrator's office)
Reporter: "Doctor, what's the condition of the pilot that was brought in earlier today?"
ER Surgeon: "You mean Demi-Percentor Blair? Well, his condition is pretty complicated and technical, so I doubt you'd understand it without a few years of medical school under your belt."
Reporter: "Can you describe it in very general terms, at least? What kind of injuries did this brave pilot sustain?"
*Mo throws an empty beer can at the holo projector at the B&G*
"Damn fool is what he is, lady! No sooner than I pull his ass out of that wreck, and he goes chasing off after monekys. I swear, if he dies, I 'm gonna come up to that hospital bed of his and kill him!"
Doctor: "Well, what I can tell you is that the technical term for his condition is FUBAR. It's a complex situation occasionally seen in battlefield injuries such as this."
Reporter: "I've never heard of this condition called "foo-bar". Is it a new discovery from the medical research schools?"
Doctor: "It's German, and no, it's not a new discovery. In fact, it's been around for quite a while, though it may have been called different things at different times by different peoples."
Reporter: "When is the pilot expected to recover? Will he face any difficulties at rehabilitation?"
Doctor: "Honestly, we don't know yet. Demi- Precentor Blair, I think his "call sign" is Ronin according to the people that brought him in, is in ICU right now. We can't say any more than that until his next of kin is notified."
Reporter: "I take that to mean that he is not expected to live, correct?"
Doctor: "You can assume what you like, but I think that assumption is a bit premature. This pilot is exceptionally, well, I don't quite know the right word, um..."
Mo: Reckless!
chihawk: Hard-headed!
Sir Henry: Stupid!
Mordel: Who?
Vagabond: Lucky!
".... survivable, I guess would be the best word to describe him. It may take a while, but if anyone can pull through, it will be him. What he'll be like afterwards is still up for speculation."
Reporter: "Thank you doctor. Well there you have it folks, the latest from St. Lucy's Hospital. I'm Sulia Mina, for SBC News."
ooc: just like the Major, I'll be out of action for a bit, but visits will be welcome

*in the weeks following the simian attack, the people of solaris begin the reconstruction efforts. every mech with two hands is drafted in to the multi-national reconstruction effort. several large donations and pre-designated funds flow into the havock striken town to supplie those who lost property, loved ones, and pets with a survivors reimbursment. the BnG is still in dissaray as the blood and suburn remains of simian parts are scrubed, pulled, and swept to the rented garbage tank. all the regulars without functioning mechs are busy resorting the property to full opperational status. sir henry takes a moment from the reloading, repairing, and installing of the BnG's simian defense grid.*
yo henry, that looker from the majors unit just stopped in and gave use the 10-4 on his condition. seems the lad is still medicly induced, but is stable.
we also got the recon on ronin.
*glides around on his blades, sweeping the dirty floor. the rubble of battle not yet cleared enough to mop.*
those bloody sim's got the karoka machine too.
*chihawk busy polishing the counters just chuckles as several others pause to chear.*
while kodachi's in for repairs i'm free. so i'm gonna head down to check up on ronin, and see sleeping beauty. you wanna join me?
i also gotta stop in to see Becky and her wounded, and say hi to the rehab boys. agfter all they taught me to walk and use this.
*he says patting his artifical right arm*

She's a fine woman. A good Davion Officer.
As for the Karaoke machine, I'll put it on my list of repairs.... Somewhere.... 
I'm adding more armor to that Pinball Machine. I'm getting Tired of fixing it....
And for Ronin, If he's crazy enough to leap, injured, out a moving vehicle, then he should be in the Kitchen helping DeadFish...

Major, *salutes* heard about what happened, sorry to hear. but hey even if you can't ever flying aerospace fighters isnt so bad, I got my start that way, however I don't think you have the atittude of a fly boy so I'm better you'll be back in a mech within the month lol Anyway I'm heading back to the B&G catch you later.
*walks out of the hospital and starts heading back to the B&G*

The Major continues his personal exercises after Slythis leaves. "Time is the enemy. I must be patient, but if I can continue to be patient eventually I should be back where I belong. And if not, well, life goes on. I was a commando once, and I could prolly go back to doing that full time. And aerospace pilot isn't a bad job."
As he practices his control over his right arm he smiles. "I'm lucky." He continues for some time before stopping.
"I wonder how the battle turned out? Most of it I can't remember. I'm pretty sure we won though."

as I walk in to Joe's room I see that he looks like Sh*t, but everything seemd to be there....
Hey Joe, How ya doing??? I know, you want results... Well, we won, of course.
The clean up continues.
Ronin's here somewhere... Battered and Bruised but he'll be fine....
Let's see.... When you get back, after Rehab, We have got to add additional systems into the Kitchen so that this doesn't happen again...
Don't worry about Piloting a Mech again, After rehab, you'll be well enough to do handstands out of here.... and you'll want to, just to get away from the Therapists... They are the children of Satan... I know, I was married to one...once......
For now, relax, try to avoid the meatloaf and if you need anything, just let us at the B&G know.

The Major listens as Sir Henry talks, leaning on the windowsill where he was standing slightly to keep himself steady. "Ronin is here? I thought he was okay. Did he get hurt storming the B&G?"
The Major moves over to a nearby chair, his right leg moving a bit off from his usual gait, the bandage cover a bit of the left side of his head easily explaining why. "Yeah, prolly. I still think I'm pretty lucky over all. I got other talents if all else fails."
The Major nods as a bit of it comesback to him. "I remember now. The monkeys must have gotten in through the kitchen's back door to attack Dead-Fish and Chihawk. I would never have imagined that those things would have had the idiocy to enter the kitchen. But then, they did a lot of surprising things out there."
"As for the B&G, I'll call Chihawk later to check the policy on deliveries." The Major smiles.

"Hey Ronin can you hear me?Oh man why? why did you have to be so reckless you nut case .Just so you know we won The B & G is a mess but they should be able to fix it up pretty soon so you can hang out there again once you get out of here and you better not die on me because I will get real upset with you if you do.
* Stands and stares at the inert form tears start forming*
"Man you got to get better O.K."
*Turns and walks out of room *
{Man that sucks}
*Goes back to elevator and heads to Joes Room ,walks in and sees him sitting in a chair*
"Well that is a good sign"

(The next two hours is a detailed barttle field report with a bit of joking around at the end}

Shortly after landing Stinger begins the dreaded task of filling out KIA paperwork. Shortly after a debrief with the remaning mercenary unit and a shower Stinger is in the Humvee headed by land to St. Lucy's.
As he walks up to the counter and exchanges pleasntries with the nurse, he notices the armored van and figures that a few of the guys must already be here. She hands him a pass key and he grabs the elevator and pushes the button for the third floor. As the elevator stops he gets out and heads down the hall. Pausing at the door to 317 he knocks gentely and pushes the door open.
"Major you awake in here?" He asks quietely, not wanting to disturb him if hes sleeping.

"Indeed I am Stinger." He stands from his chair and motions to the other one. "Come in and have a seat if you like. I've had quite a few visitors today. Beats those pushy docotors. "Do this, flex that, do some of this now, now this..." It's like basic training all over again."

Just then Alexander walks in, with a nurse yelling behind him. "Sir, you can't go in there. You're clothing is filthy. This is a hospital sir!"
Alexander turns and looks at her. The look in his eyes instantly causes her to shut her mouth. "Look, ma'am. I've just been in the field for four months on an operation, and I just heard about the trouble these guys had. I'll only be a minute, so please, lay off."
The nurse turns and walks quickly away, as Alexander turns back into the room. He smiles thinly, "Sorry about that guys. What can I say? Women love me."
Joe and Stinger smile as Alexander sits down in the empty chair in the corner of the room. "Sorry about my appearance, I haven't changed my uniform in I don't know how long now."
Alexander cracks his knuckles in his nervous habit. "Look. I'm really sorry I could be here when the Sims came down. I'm on this really hairy op right now, Peacekeeping in the Chaos March, and I got here just as quick as I could."
Joe smiles again. "It's okay. One more guy, or even another unit wouldn't have made that much of a difference."
"I know. I've fought them twice before. I just feel guilty about not being around this time. I mean, this is the first time they got any of the regulars, you know. I should have been here," Alexander said harshly.
Stinger looked over at Joe, and then back to Alexander. "Don't sweat it. You're here now, and that's all that counts."
Alexander smiled, "Yeah, I guess. It's too bad that I have to leave in a week again to rejoin my unit. But, I guess we all do what we have to." With that, Alexander stood up and left the room, plans for revenge swirling in his head. He vowed to find the Simians at their home, and drop his unit on top of them, and sqeeze them into a fine paste.

As I leave the Hospital, I see a seathing Tanker...
Hey Tanker, How you doing?... I know your angry but being angry can be a good thing. Store it and save it for later. I see vengence in those eyes of yours. Cool off first, then go hunting. Remember the old saying... "Vengence is a dish best served cold...."

Stinger sighs as Alexander shuts the door behind him. "Not sure whats going on but I think there may be more to his anger than what he let on." Looks back at Joe. "So the prognosis is undecided at this time? Uh know I picked up Piloting a few months ago. We are under contract to test out the attack choppers we were using. I plan on getting set up with a aerospace certification as well. As much as I like the Devestator I could really get used to flying over the battlefield."
"I was wondering where you got thoes choppers. They seem to work well. But I will be back in a mech. Period." Joe replies.
"I expect no less my friend. But just remember there are options." Chuckels Stinger as a very attractive Candy Striper walks in. "At least you have some benefits for the time being." He winks as she starts to check bandages, and other tests.
