I like the Barghest. It kinda reminds me of my dog. Big and dumb. But since it took out three mechs at the Monte before the combined firepower of six mediums and lights and one assult to took it down. I have a new found respect for it.

If you want the winner of lame looking mechs. That would have to be the clans Blood Asp. That is one lame looking mech.

The Bandersnatch? Never heard of it. But it wins on the name alone.

Bandersnatch is the IS term for the Kraken, right? The bastard with LB-2Xs up the wazoo, right?

The Bandersnatch is a one man company's product from the Chaos March. I think it has four LRM 5s and two LB10X AC. Its like a 75 tonner 4/6 or something like that, don't quote me.

All i know is that it was one of those spontanious popping pu mech factories and then it was slagged.

Raven, away from his TRO's.

I am also a 3025 purist. Though I actually like the mechs that are available right up to and including the first clan invasion.

The Clan mechs are very powerful, and an innersphere player has to really know his stuff to be able to compete with them. I think someone went way overboard when they tried to come up with new inner sphere designs to combat the Clans.

The main reason why regular designs are still being made, as opposed to just doing omnimechs, is the cost. Omni-mechs are more expensive. Plus, you have to haul around all of the weapons and other pods for all of the different configurations you intend to use. A well organized unit of standard mechs can accomplish most missions that a lance of omni-mechs could for far less money. Apply this on a national scale, and the amount of savings between regular and omni-mechs means you can put more regular mechs in the field.

See, there you go again trying to apply LOGIC to this whole thing. The reason they make more 'mechs is the Mini's. The more DIFFERENT mini's they make the more people will buy. If its just a bunch omni's nobody would care.

I am ashamed of you folks. The Bandersnatch is the custom order mech. The Bander Corporation would build to spec. You want 4 SRM6 and an 2 ERPPCs, and you get it.

Raven is correct. 75 ton, 4/6 piece of Chit.....

In regards to the too many mechs issue, I definitly agree. I'm a 3025 purist at heart, though but I do own the TRO '55 and '58. I've never used any of the mechs but I bought them to stay up to date. I hate that they're writing the unseen out of the BT universe.

They're not...the Unseen are merely that....unseen...they have been updated to newer tech (3067 level) in the upcoming RS: 3067 book (which should come out in mid to late April...the 3067 TRO has been sent to the printers and should start shipping a week from today)...they will also be included in the revised faction random 'Mech tables in the upcoming FM: Updates and FM: Merc-Revised books...

They just can't use the images in books or make the minis anymore...

Which is why I am a memeber of a faction of B'tech players which is growing larger every day...a faction that wants Wizkids/FanPro to redraw and recast the Unseen.

There was NO logical reason that FASA didn't do it. There is NO logical reason for Wizkids/FanPro not to do it. Every reason ever given is simply Chicken Little yelling "the sky is falling".

And based on the current results of the poll I posted a week or so ago it's plain to see that if they were to redraw them decently there would be many, many people waiting to buy them.

Bandersnatch is a heavy mech (i believe anyway) or maybe a 90 ton assault. Im not totally sure but the CCG card sez that each Bandersnatch is unique but the differences are minor at best (i.e. ER medium not regular medium). Also about the different (and numerous) designs think of it as cars and/or other vehicles, there are many classes but lots of models in each. If you suddenly discover your enemy is using a strange mech and you don't know what to do then do what the IS did so well at the outset of the Clan Invasion. Die, die, and die some more.
