For your consideration once more: revive the PBeM system you had in the late 90s, with game maps to be viewed by everyone. That was so exciting and interesting even for people not part of the game.
I'd be all over that. 
But right now, my job and personal situation and timezone mean that I cannot enter a MML tourney...

I am amazed at the number of people that want me to bring back my old PBeM game. No way I can do the 32 player monstrosities I used to do, but maybe a small game could be worked out...

We don't really have that many folks anymore, so I'm betting the games would be much smaller based solely on that. I think what people liked about the PBEM games was the blind movement nature of it all. It's an aspect you don't get anywhere else and actually adds some strategy to the game that is missing in non-blind games.
The maps should be easy now as they cn easily and quickly be created with HMMap.

We are talking about the old Race or Cave Brawls? Basically a blind movement free for all. So we just need someone to receive movement emails and post a new map jpeg, quiaff?

Yep, everyone got emailed with them every game (or should have been). Was a text email, no attachment.
