i tend to as well. however, having played them ALOT on the MM servers it has frustrated me just how low on armor the average MBT is in the SLDF era. What use is my PPC and LRM/10 at 700 bv if its dead in 3 turns?

Perhps you can try my type 50s for expendability 
I was also thinking about this bastard reversed. Making LRMs the main gun - single LRM 15 or 10 would give it reach and the ability to camp just behind some obstacle and be annoying. Armour, MLs and SRMs could make any attempt to dislodge this bastard from that spot without artillery or air support rather hard.

Dang a lance of Jagdjaegers on a hill would certainly ruim someone's day. Is it necessary for both the PPC and LBX variants to mount ECM? They would probably be deployed together in mixed lances for the clusters to take advantage of the PPC holes, at least that is how I would use them.

I just kinda considered the ECM and the forward Flamer fixed equipment. You could easily swap it out for anything non-energy, non-turret mount weapon/equipment up to 1.5 tons.

Only wish it could mount Armored Motive System option. TacOps pg. 283.
But that would weight an oppressive 7.5 tons.
However, if unrestricted by ERA you could get some fun variants. See next post.
