Threw this one together last night.

The idea is that it can be taken simultaneously with any stage 3 or 4 life path in order to represent a character serving in the military reserves for their nation or another group. Given that the player is getting these skills *on top of* whatever skills they're getting from whatever other life path they're doing, I tried to balance things out so that they'll get a modest reward for positive rolls but enough risk with the negative ones to think twice.

Military Reserves

Time: 2 Years

Skills: Choose Two: Computer Operations +1, Running +1,
Bureaucracy +1, Protocol / Nation +1, Gambling +1, Tactics / Any +1,
Swimming +1, Interest / Any +1, Pilot / Any +1, Language / Any +1, Blades +1, Brawling +1, any other skill +1

Fields: Basic Training (+2 instead of +3)

Traits: Rank [1]

Attributes: min SOC 3
bonus none

Next Path: Any level 3 or 4 life path as appropriate

2 Your unit didn't get anywhere near enough training, and so when the big one went down you fared little better than tin soldiers in a fire.
(Choose two: Combat Paralysis, Addiction [2] + Unlucky [1], Madness / Catatonia [3], Madness / Flashbacks [3], Amnesia, Glass Jaw,
Disabled [3], Lost Limb [3], Slow Learner, Poor Hearing [3], Poor Vision [4]. May take no further military life paths without GM permission.)

3 What's this "Kent State" everyone keeps talking about? (Bureaucracy / Nation +1, Rifles, Protocol / Nation -1, Career / Soldier -1, Bad
Reputation [3])

4 Given how little training anyone gets, it was only a matter of time before a serious accident took place. (Choose two: Unlucky [1], Allergy,
Lost Limb [1], Disabled [1], Poor Vision [1], Poor Hearing [1], Bad Reputation [1])

5 There's a war on, and your unit has been activated to fight in it. (Player's next life path must have "Tour of Duty" in the name.)

6 "Skippy's List" is subversive humor, not an instruction manual. (Demotion [1])

7 Maybe if your instructor could show up for duty sober, you'd actually learn something… and maybe they wouldn't be stuck in a reserve unit.
(Bureaucracy / Nation +1, Protocol / Nation +1, all Basic Training field skills -1)

8 The community is grateful for your service, but the regulars down at the club think it's hilarious how you "play soldier" once a month. (Good
Reputation [1], Stigma / Poser [1])

9 Unfortunately for you, juggling your reserve commitment and your day job didn't leave much time for social pursuits. (Bureaucracy /
nation +1, Interest / any -1)

10 You did your two years, and picked up a few things along the way. (Any two skills +1)

11 At least you can honestly say that you're a veteran. (Good Reputation [1])

12 Well, someone thought that you looked good in a uniform... (Choose one: Protocol / Nation +1, Streetwise / Nation +1, or Seduction +1.
Good Reputation [1], Dependant / Spouse [1])

13 It wasn't much, but you did get a nice enlistment bonus. (Wealth [1])

14 Spent some of your time supporting a civilian SWAT team. (Tactics / Infantry +1, Academic / Law +1, Streetwise / Nation +1)

15 You were tasked with assisting a search and rescue team. (Choose four: Pilot / Any +1, First Aid +1, MedTech +1, Navigation / Ground +1,
Navigation / Water +1, Navigation / Air +1, Poisons and Antidoes +1, Survival +1)

16 You take matters seriously, and are rewarded accordingly. (Any three Basic Training field skills +1, Promotion [1])

17 Although you weren't called up, you still spent your time training and conducting maneuvers with a regular unit, and learned what you could
in the process. (Character receives any one military skill field at +1)

18 Your unit was called into action against a hostile force and acquitted itself well. (Choose four: Promotion [1], Good Reputation [1], Good
Hearing [1], Good Vision [1], any Basic Training skill +3, Night Vision, Brave, Poison Tolerance, Wealth [1], Well-Equipped [1])

19 (Pick any one event or roll twice and apply both.)

20 (Pick any two events or roll three times and apply all three.)
