---------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
To the outside observer, the Erasmus - originally named the "Divinity" - wa
little more than a vanity project of Word of Blake Precentor XXI Erasmus
Tancredo, a self-styled mech designer who regarded his machine as a
jack-of-all-trades that combined speed, firepower, and armor all on a singl
frame. Unfortunately for Precentor Tancredo, however, the Blakist leadershi
initially considered his design redundant in light of the Initiate, which t
regarded as a suitable enough mech for their purposes. He took the news in
stride, presuming that the decision had been based on information to which
had not previously been privy, and filed the design away so that he could
resubmit it at a later date.

In reality, the design had its supporters, including among the Manei Domine
who valued the mech for the fact that it actually had a functional hand. It
was simply a matter of rebalancing the mech's weaponry and electronics, whi
were an awkward mish-mash due to the bulk of the C3 Command system that he
in place. With the advent of the C3i system, more competent hands began the
process of redesigning the machine.

It was temporarily sidelined again by the introduction of such mechs as the
Red Shift, but on the eve of the Jihad Tancredo was summond to Terra for t
news that his design, post re-work, had been accempted, and that he and th
Manei Dominei agent who worked the redesign would be tasked with selecting
suitable factory on Earth in order to manufacture the machine.

Tragically, however, this was not meant to be. Tancredo was touring Skobel
Mechworks when the New Terran Hegemony launched their liberation effort for
the planet. Tancredo insisted on personally leading the defense from the
cockpit of his Grand Crusader, only to fall in battle before the awesome mi
of a Guillotine 9X in the hands of an AFNN special forces pilot.

Although Tancredo was gone, the Manei Dominei operative was still alive and
had the plans with him; although he too vowed to fight, he instead obeyed
orders to leave the planet. This proved to be fateful, as the Word of Blake
was in dire need of mechs after the Liberation of Terra. While the 2B Shado
Hawk entered production on Sirius in order to supplement the shattered
garrison units who needed more units, the mech - now known as the Erasmus i
honor of its creator - entered production on Procyon. In an ironic twist,
however, schematics had been left behind at Skobel which were detailed enou
for Our Blessed Order - with the help of AFNN technicians - to begin
production of our own version of the mech under the designator Divinity II.

I added both of these to the TRO section (keeping you as the Designer of course). Might as well share the joy with others. Smile

Mordel -

You do realize that this is for my own personal canon, right?

That could well be a lot of people wanting to know what I'm talking about in the fluff. Razz
