| I'm still using Windows98. My previous hard drive crashed and I had to purchase a new one. I'm glad I kept my Windows98 CD.

Good luck with that one. I think I'll stick with Mandriva Linux 2010, Windows XP SP3, and Windows 7 Ultimate.

Been thinking about upgrading to Windows 7, but I'm always afraid about the impact upgrading will have on my currently installed programs.

What is your current OS? If its Vista you don't have to worry. XP or prior... well worry

XP's so popular though that from what I understand there's more than enough patches in place.

I do have XP, and while I think of it, I probably won't (or have any real reason too) upgrade for some time.

The only reason to upgrade really is IPv6. When that finally gets implemented internetwide. Of course, that has been delayed already for far too long. Also XP fully supports IPv6 anyways. So you'd be safe. I'm hoping they push IPv6 through by 2012, but I doubt they'll succeed.
