MSNBC reported about it, seems he had some kind of breathing problem(s) and that is what caused him to pass on.

Ha freakin ha Kara. Seriously, I had no idea until I read this. Clarke was one of my favorite authors. I really liked the books regarding the Mad Mind. think it was Against the Fall of Night.
