Wanting to cash in on the need for simple yet effective mechs, Blackstone BattleMechs, Ltd. revamped their Talon battlemech, removing the costly XL engine as well as the ER PPC that it normally carried these changes dropped the price down to where seventy percent of it's customers could buy more then one or two. These mechs are starting to enter service with the different Lyran militia units as well as several merc units around the Inner sphere.

The AXM-0S was a pre-production model of the Axman battlemech. Using SRMs instead of the big-bore autocannon used on later models the 0S was often criticized for the lack of knock-out punch, but the warriors praised the machine for it's ability to withstand an insane amount of damage. This often helped it to bring the axe to bear and end the fight with a few well placed blows.

Hmmm, is this a true Steiner/Lyran Mech? Mountain Wolf I am not familiar with, neither the Vendrell system.

This is a great garrison and medium to light mech support platform. But the endo steel bothers me for some reason. I know why you did it but for a sort of Star Leauge like, only 1-2 pieces of new tech this does not fit.

It is slow, it would probably kick a standard Panthers ass. It is talking to me but not sweet love.

Not a Steiner mech but I really like it. I can see this Mech for that role easily. Go without the FF as a first version is easy to see. May have to use this as an enemy harasser. Could see some Locuts and other Cicadas as escorts to this.

Boooya. O Baby. I got me a contender. May be a low life AFFS Mech but this is pre civil war and would easily find its way into the Steiner Inventories.

Love the use of CASE and SRM6. This is a slugger all the way round. Like you said SD, early generation. Would be put in hot spots near Stars End and Chaos March.

Not many made. Could even see a version with a PPC.

The fluff in 3058 TRO is written that it's a SL remake used primarily on Lyran / Jade Falcon / Priphery borders. the Upgrades adds some mercs to the list as well.

Actually it could have a manufacturing plant on Solaris (making it a Hatchetman on steroids for local games) since Davions later borrowed heavily from the ideas born there. I considered several other machines, but the idea of a Hatchetman without that XL glass jaw was too good to be left to catch dust. Originally I made it with FF armour, but low-tech won the contest against overall toughness. The PPC is an interesting idea, but I would probably take a LL because of the minimal range.

TRO 3050 upgrades says that there is a second Axman production plant on Furillo owned by Defiance. It produces the 2N, which is armed with missiles as well...

I'm glad that you liked it... I hope that your group is going appreciate that you need to completely disintegrate the 'Mech to get rid of it... too bad that no official variant ever used the TSM (at least I never heard about any) Sad

The mini probably won't require any alternations since the AC in the old 3050 looked like a missile launcher, didn't it? Very Happy
