==Overview:==
As a result of the actions within the Chaos March, the Free Worlds League
military learned a number of very valuable lessons. 

The Guntiger was their way of responding to two of them.

The Guntiger, simply put, has two missions:

1. Serve as a platform that can successfully battle in close-quarters
conditions.

2. Hunt down enemy infantry. 

Time and again, FWL forces found themselves getting hammered due to their
ill-preparedness in these two areas, particularly when the two situations were
combined. The FWL had few units that could properly handle fighting in
close-quaters environments *or* infantry, let alone both. 

As such, the Guntiger was created to resolve this problem. The mech's four
machine guns provide it with devastating anti-infantry firepower, and the ER
Large Laser gives it the ability to chip away at power armor and any vehicles
that it might encounter. A single Guntiger can threaten light mechs, and a
lance of them can threaten even the mightiest of assault mechs.

If there is room one of the level 3 items that would work well on this one would be a turret...

I wish they had done things up similar to how vehicle turrets work for mechs...oh well.

I intended for this to be something that was cheap yet effective.

The Saix, sibling mech to the Guntiger, was designed to help solve them.

When it came to "striker" units that could get in quickly and hammer away, FWL
military doctrine called for the usage of hovercraft units like the Pegasus.
However, it soon became apparent that relying on hovercraft for use as striker
units had definite drawbacks. Among other things, the hovercraft units were
far more vulnerable to internal damage; it was an alarmingly frequent
occurance to recover tanks that were still serviceable but where one or both
crew members had been killed. 

Based on this, the decision was made to create a mech that could function as a
striker. Thus, the Saix was born. Although not as fast as most hovercraft, the
Saix is still faster than most production mechs; in the event that extra speed
is needed, the mech has MASC. 

It has near-maximum armor, meaning that it can take several hits before going
down. And its weapons load - a turreted large pulse laser, twin medium lasers,
and a small laser - is potent enough to worry medium-sized mechs and kill
battle armor.
