Hmm, I'm not sure about these lasers, Warner. I can't quite give them a thumbs down because they have pretty good stats and the -1 is a bonus for mechs without TC's, and their range and damage is greater than that of the regular pulse lasers. In that sense they are a clear improvement.
I can't quite give them a thumbs up, though. The large laser is nice, but I would rather have a PPC tied to a TC. People seem to forget the the TC's OTHER function beyond giving an free -1 is that it can aim at specific locations. I might be the only person who uses it that way, but I have found it to be useful in combat.
Allowing these to be tied to TC's wouldn't make them any munchier than existing clan tech.

You'll have to pardon me, I left out one vital statement. These pain killers cause me to lose concentration. You can target specific locations with these lasers. The modifiers are different. You are at a +4 instead of the +3. That simply takes into account that the targeting systems are not on a stable platform (because they are mounted on a gimble system that allows them to operate independently of the arms and movement effects the guidance system) as the TC is when mounted in the Torso. Where is the arms are moving when the mech is walking or running. Hopefully you understood this last part.

| Yeah. For the last 2 weeks I've been taking 2 Vicodin ever 4-6 hours for massive pain resulting from completely torn rotator cuff, ruptured bursa sack and impingment in my right shoulder. I am also taking a Bextra a day too. So its been pretty bad.
Tuesday I will be having reconstructive surgery on my shoulder to fix it. (I hope). That's why.

Well I'll just ignore the IS pulse/TC combo, but why not shorten the ranges on the Clan Pulses to make them not so munchy?

It's not the pulse lasers or the TC, it's the combo of the two....

Agreed...but it begs the question of HOW to fix the problem...

I don't see it as a problem as there aren't that many cannon mechs that have this combo.
What the "problem" might be is the tactically challanged, testosterone laiden individuals that put the combo on every mech they design even if it doesn't fit the mech's MOS.
And if you run into a lot of people like that odds are you're playing level 3 anyway, so take laser reflective armor.
