a glimps at my archive of designs that date back to 1998 or earlier, before mordels. We will all get to laugh at my pitifullness.

I was cleaning out stuff when I found my old design folders. The folders contained most if not all of my early designs. I intend to post them here for all to see and enjoy. Just glancing over them caused me to shake my head in bewilderment that i once put out such designs. Tomorrow you shall enjoy.

I remember the first mech I ever tried to make, as I tried to learn the rules. I had decided crit rules didn't make sense I guess, cause I had a 100 ton mech, no armor (it came with free armor -- read: Internals) and loaded it with PPCs. I know I did the movement and engines right. Just nothing else.

==Overview:==
A light 'mech with at least a max speed of 97.2 kph and a jump capability of
180 meters.  The 'mech must be durable with moderate staying power and must
have a Long Range striking ability that is fairly accurate.

==Capabilities:==
A 'mech that is 30 tons, a max speed of 118.8 kph, a jump capability of 210
meters.  The design includes LRMs augmented with Artemis fire control and a
Dual Cockpit with a C3 Computer to increase the hit probability of the 'mech
and his unit mates.  Medium lasers round out the 'mech's weapon systems.  Hand
actuators are present to allow the 'mech versatility.  To accommodate weight
and heat new materials were used.  To speed up the 'mech but leave space for
other equipment an XL Engine is used.  Endo-Steel is used lighten the
structure.  Double Heat Sinks solve the heat problem of heat.  Field tests
show great promise and crews are being trained.  Field tests have shown one
problem in this design is the inability to change the 'mech's systems.  The
'mech is very cramped space wise so not many variants are likely to show up on
the field.  There are attempts to make the design simple to modify in case of
battle damage makes it the only way to return the ship to the field.  The
Command version has LRMs or Hands and is constructed differently.

Modification Notes: this design was 30 tons but had used flawed math in its
construction.  The original math offers 15 tons of space for weapons and
equipment.  In order to keep with the idea yet make it legal, I upped the
tonnage to 40 and reduced the pod space to 12 tons.  Another obvious change
was to make this an Omnimech which I felt was in line with the spirit of the
design.  Obviously, the Command version is no longer a different production
model.

==Overview:==
Modification Notes: this design got heavily modified do to gross problems.  It
used to move 1/2, have about 33 percent armor, carry 20 compact heat sinks,
armed with 4 thumper cannons and 4 LAC/2, and had a small cockpit.  It was too
slow and to short ranged to perform its intended duty as an artillery mech. 
The concept called for 4 artillery pieces which were described as Missile
artillery, and therefore, I switched to 2 Arrow IV.  This gives it range and
punch.  It is purely ammo based and has wicked minimum ranges which fit
perfectly.

Winged Angel... Hmm you liked energy weapons a lot, didn't you? But don't worry the first omni I've ever made hangs around this board (Lion) with almost all configs unchanged. So you may laugh a little too.
