Kinda tough to do when half of your posts are you telling us why this thread is dumb, or that youre shutting down this thread because YOU dont like it for what ever reason.

Well right now in chihawks pbem game I am driving a Jenner JR-7F my opponant is driving an Akuma AKU-1XJ .It is now round 11 he has hit me 3 times with his ER large laser I have hit him about 20 times with my medium lasers I prdict that about turn 20 his mech will fall ...Most likely it will be the last one to fall in round one...My mech is the smallest in the group and one of only a handfull of level ones in a field loaded with level twos ...and it is holding up just fine

Counting this post I've made 9 posts in this thread:
5 of them are replies to your attack on me...the 6th (which is my first in the thread)...1 replying to Kraken mentioning that some mechs are already not in production...1 reply to Mordel about our love of 3025 mechs...and one replying tongue in cheek to MV.
You've made 8 posts and 6 are direct or indirect attack on me.
Huh, I wonder who the problem is?
Care to point out any thread I've "shut down" because I didn't like it.

That's OK.
My main point is that there are a number of mechs which aren't in production anymore, so attrittion would eventually cause these mechs to cease to exist. This process will ultimately thin somewhat the number of mechs available to field.

It is plain and simple: To remove 3025 mechs from the game would be equivalent to BT suicide. However, in the BT universe it is only natural that certain out of production mechs and ones less favored (Scorpion) will fade from the battlefield as attrition, lack of parts and relegation to secondline and militia units become bigger factors.
Personally, I play almost exclusively in the 3025 era where, as Mordel said, skill and not dice play a large part of the game.

Well, some manufacturers will stop production of certan models, true, to keep up with demand for newer mechs. But theyl still keep the plans for the older designs somewhere, some filing cabinet or something.
Less scrupulous manufacturers will probably keep some lines working on 3025 mechs because theyre easy to make, and they can sell to just about anyone. Periphery kindgoms, National Guard units, or just the lone planet wanting SOMETHING they can claim as a 'mech defense unit', there will always be a buyer for any design.
Certain battles have proven that the older mechs can fight the newer models with some degree of effectiveness. Luthien, Coventry, Hannover, Wolcott, and the majority of mechs on Tukayyid were 3025-era. Granted they dont have the 'endurance' that the newer mechs do, so your butcher bill is going to be fairly large.

You are playing your mech well while your opponent isn't playing his very well...but you also should add Mo that you are a 1/1 pilot while your opponent is at best 5/5.

Aff chihawk I took a calculated risk and went with a small low BV mech to max out the pilot and in Caseys defense it is pretty hard to hit some body when you get stuck with a 5 gunnery and most movement mods are 4-6 and the range is medium.and your mech has a 3/5/3 move and the opponant is 7/11.there is little he can do against an enemy that fast that can gain TNs of 6-8 while if you are lucky he might get a 11 or 12 TN with one of his weapons.

Aff but it SO much FUN to slowly pick a 90 ton mech apart with a 35 tonner...The only bad thing about pbem is the fact that I cannot see the look on his face when his mech finaly falls .Aff I am a mean old man.
