I have been toying with it a little (of course my assessment is just on paper and has no playtesting to back it up. Stupid Wolfhound and spending time with his girlfriend...) and I like it. I actually like it better than the ProtoMech because it doesn't use the EI fluff stuff.

OK dude i'm not trying to compare them to PMs but according to your TR, your TAs wieght any where from 2000kgs(2tons) to 18000kgs(18 tons). That means from 2000kgs to 9000kgs you can use the PM construction rules as a template for your TAs and work from there.
first of all you are screwing yourself on the internal structure. the PM have more internal stucture than you TAs of the same wieght.
second, at first thought i thought you can get away with a 500 kg cockpit, but we get back to that EI system, the one thing i'm missing here is how much does your CCC (C3)
system wiegh. without knowing that i think you can get away with 1000kgs.
third, i did some math on your engine rating. your TAs use a battery for an engine. if 1000kgs wiegh one ton then your smallest engine wieghs 40 pounds, about the weigh of a car battery. I really don't think that car battery can power a TA for an hour or more. 45 minutes at best so try upping you engine wieghts by 50%. that should do it.
Fourth, the PM hs wiegh 250kgs. the IS tech level at this point is not really too far behind the clans and i personally think you can get away with 300kgs instaed of the 385 kgs you proposed.
one last thing before i get off my soap box. where do you people get your info on the btech universe after 3060 (which is where i am at). Let me know so i can stop being ignorant.

oops in editing here. there between 5 to 18 tons. or 5000kg - 18000kg.

the cockpit and LS are heavier, closer towards battlemechs. as to the weight of the CCC computer. hmmm, i think i figured that into the cockpit and/or engine. its not much, so its not over important to weight.

nope. no can do. for if i double the weight were getting up into fusion engine weight here. avoiding this, plus the is the fi part of sci fi. it just the future, kk.

[/quote]doubleing the weight would not work that i agree with. but increasing the wieght of the battery by 50% ie a 40 lb battery now wieghing 60lb.

40 lbs for a car battery?! WHAT THE HELL CAR DO YOU DRIVE?! JEEZE!
Man, my car battery weighs like five pounds if! i throw that thing around so much I hardly notice anymore it anymore!! Damn! Fourty pounds of acid and base (very basic battery) wouldn't do it, but if you use advanced battery technology you should be able to pull it off.
Hell at least I haven't given him my idea for enviornmentally friendly war technology.

I don't care whats in the battery, they just don't weigh a lot (or i'm a lot stronger then I think I am). Hell my whole damn car doesn't weigh a lot!!!! i pushed it almost three miles to a gas station when my engine shut off on me (coolent problems. Severe coolent problems).

i don't normally do this, but i'm gonna resurrect this topic for discussion.
I am also planning on updating these guidelines for use with TW. Likely barrowing heavily from Industrial Mechs, Protos, and Support Vehicles. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.
