Great Idea and has a lot of truth. What can really be smart is have the normal main line stiff as plastic pre paint, and the special mechs as metal. Thus if you want the Marauder II (inssert mech) then you have to buy metal. This make an arms race that made Magic and the other click games so popular. This is kind of like the collectable MW:DA but a lot more control. This keeps the we like to paint group happy. Of course these plastic minis will have to be made in SE Asia.

AWAD- Still have over 100 to paint, but over a 100 are already done

Even 12v12 is pushing it, especially with people who haven't memorized the rules. The Mt. Diablo event wasn't quite 12v12 and it had experienced players, yet it took over 8 hours to play. I left before it was finished.

That's basically all I am saying. Like Bforce it has to be independent, but it also has to be something poeple wanna buy. So I think a little minis game (that doesn't include mechs with spikes, skulls, or other lame crap) would be good.

We play 12v12 at conventions all the time and most battles make it to a conclusion in 4 hours.

The key is having each player ready to move or shoot when it is their turn.

Agreed...AWAD, AlexxKnight and I (and three or so others) once played an 11 on 20+ game once...I don't recall it taking more than maybe 5 or 6 hours...if that...

It really got fun when AWAD piled around half of his 20+ 'Mechs on 2 of ours...and they refused to go down until they had lost all their weapons and their arms, and were virtually denuded of armor on their torsos...

Yeah. For a group to do that they really have to be into the game. Unfortunately I have never had the privilege of playing with suh a group. Most games I have gotten to play (not just Btech) have a tendency to slow down because people are socializing.

We do plenty of socializing too...if we didn't I doubt that anyone would show up.

The key is knowing when you have a few moments to chat and knowing when its time for your head to be in the game...

Ummm very few of them actually finish. Most of them get down to a few mechs left, but most of the scenario based events shut down before the final shot.

That's why I said "to a conclusion"...the winner is obvious in "most" battles. Plus in 80% (or more) of the scenarios if we'd play another hour the battle would be completely finished.

as for the ting awad was talking about with the ferros bases....i know for a fact that they would never do that...and pewter is cheaper and easier to work with.

well now if i were to prepaint all the minis....they would be a bit pricey....as I am a high priced Ho now! LOL!


also about the cheap minis.....I just wanna state that most the people who buy MWDA here, also buy Warhammer 40k.....so its not the mini price they could complain about....cuz they spend 20 soem odd bucks on a tank that dies in the first 5 minutes of a battle.
