It would be kewl to see the chainmail rules in PDF format. I would love to see how it all started and be able to compare it to later incarnations of D&D.

I think Sir Henry was speaking literally. I have my Spagen Helm and Lorica hiding out somewhere too.
As for Chainmail rules going up in PDF, good luck. You might find someone who does not know how valuable the original rulebooks are. If you do get a set, have fun. There is some early (humble)artwork in there from some of the commonly known artists. You get to see how they did in their early teens. Fighterman, Magicman, Thief and Holyman, Plain vanilla no other classes. The most basic monsters, and minimalist dungeons.

I also have a set, I vaccum packe them with my info mercial gadget. NO Way this side of Hell is the seal gonna get broken either. 3sets?! souns like he is being a bit greedy.
I just have the Helm and Lorica right now, I do not know if the Lorica fits anymore, I have not tried it on in a few years. It based on the AnTir Lorica Segmentata developed by Binker. Way back (I was 16 when I earned my first one) in 1980 or so. I have since used the original to rebuild as I traveled around. I watched Sir Dublin (AnTir) dive and somersault in one to grab a weapon during a grand melee. He succeeded, at which point it became the only piece of armor I wanted. I never matched that, but several times I appreciated the protection of plate with near the flexibility of leather. Heck out in the desert, the gaps in the torso bands allowed for blessed air circulation.

I've had to do some rolls myself, It's a little easier in chain than the bands of metal but it's nothing you want to do...
What's yours made of?
