Overview:
    The Apache, named after a historic attack helicopter, was the first venture into military
    VTOLs of the Boston Vehicle Corporation on New Earth. Known for mostly civil hovercrafts and
    VTOLs the design process, started in 2027, dragged on and so the new helicopter debuted in
    2035.

Capabilities:
    The Apache is an agile VTOL with considerable firepower. A medium laser and two 4-racks of
    SRM gives it a quite heavy punch up close and two 5-racks of LRM can deliver long range
    support.
    With emphasis on speed and despite using a fusion reactor the Apache is only lightly
    armored. It has adequate protection to the sides and especially the front but its rear has
    only minimal armor coverage. A drawback that was deemed acceptable with that speed.

Deployment:
    The Apache debuted the same year as the first high-tech equipment from the Helm Memory Core
    was available throughout the Inner Sphere.
    That raised considerable problems for BVC as most customers rushed to get their hands on
    this new stuff. Sales figures stayed behind expectations and BVC came into financial
    difficulties immediately.
    The Apache was only sold to several medium tier mercenaries and some militias throughout the
    Inner Sphere.

Variants:
    Apaches were also delivered as long range support variants swapping the SRMs for additional
    LRMs and as shock attack variants swapping the LRMs for additional SRMs.
    Another take was the 'advanced' variant, making use of said advanced technology. The medium
    laser was mounted into a chin turret covered by half-a-ton of additional armor. A recan
    camera was mounted alongside the laser and all missile launchers were substituted by four
    Streak-2 lauchers. Two prototypes were built but no serial production came about.
