Overview:
    Initially a personal custom refit for a Republic Armed Forces Mechwarrior Lieutenant Jim
    Vargas, this recent refit has caused quite a stir among New Earth Trading Company executives
    who are seeing this as a possible alternative to their standard KHP-7R.
    
    Nicknamed KHP-7R-P where the P indicates prototype, this variant is still undergoing testing
    before New Earth Trading Company will commit to this for production.

Capabilities:
    After Jim Vargas had his Kheper disabled recently due to a lucky Gauss rifle hit by a
    Capellan PO II tank to his mech's side torso, he decided to fork out some personal funding
    to get his mech tailor fitted to himself rather than Republic Armed Forces specifications.
    
    First Jim Vargas had his astechs replaced the disabled Extralight Core Tek engine with a
    more sturdy Defiance light fusion engine with the same speed rating. While this made the
    design more durable, it meant he had to give up his mech's beloved M-7 Gauss Rifle due to
    excess weight. Undaunted though, he traded in his M-7 Gauss rifle for a single Magna
    SuperNova Heavy PPC. Then he go his techs to do the hard work of re-wiring the entire gun to
    the right arm.
    
    The side effect of the this weapon replacement also meant that he no longer needs to count
    his shots with his primary weapon, which he consider a fair trade off, although at expense
    of heat and range. To combat the heat load, Vargas ordered for 2 extra double strength
    freezers to be added. 1 was placed in the engine, while another was connected to the
    SuperNova as a cooling jacket.
    
    With tonnage to spam, an additional Artemis IV fired control system was mated to his Holly 7
    Multi-missile launcher. The laser guidance allows for greater accuracy although it would
    require Jim Vargas to be have relatively unobstructed view of the target.   Lastly, another
    1 ton of armor was added to the chassis. Mainly for extra protection to the sides and center
    torso.
    
    
    Aside from these modifications, the rest of the design remain unchanged. The eclectic mix of
    advanced lasers still serve as backup to the main battery.

Deployment:
    Currently the only known mechwarrior to pilot this variant at any capacity is Jim Vargas.
    But he has sang praises to his personal ride, calling it Ratel (Honey Badger) due to it's
    good mix of speed, defensive capabilities and surprisingly strong bite.
