Type: LX-7Y Lynx
Technology Base: Inner Sphere Level 1
Tonnage: 30 tons
OVERVIEW
A light Mech with speed and firepower? Impossible! Well, that is
what the common thought was before the Lynx came onto the battlefield.
It took that theory and blasted it. As fast or faster than the average
light mech the Lynx still manages to pack a nasty punch at 300 meters
or less and still live to see another day with it's armor protection.
CAPABILITIES
The heart of the Lynx is it's 210 rated Fusion engine. Putting out
enough power to drive this 30 ton mech passed the 100 kilometers per
hour mark with ease. Carrying six tons of armor allows the Lynx to take a
hit and keep fighting. The Lynx's duel Medium Lasers and Short
Range Missiles all share the same range profile. This allows the machine
to bring all of it's weapons to bear at the same time. It also gives
the pilot one goal, "Get in range and then Blast'em". A tactic that works
well even with a greenie under the nerohelmet.
DEPLOYMENT
To date this Mech is only deployed is small numbers. Mainly due to
the fact that you have to have money to produce mechs. It is much
cheaper to simply fix the old light mech as opposed to diverting
cash from heavy mech production. If this mech does ever reach the
battlefield in any significant numbers the day of the Heavy Mech is
over.

You, Sir, are a true system player!
---The armor placement
This mech is perfect for hunting lights/mediums straying too far.

Only use the pre code if you cut and paste the text. Do not use a HTML code with it.
The results are messey.
Go to one of my design post. And click on edit. And see how I did it.
BTW: I love the mech.

Jenner lacks the armor protection of my Lynx. It also does not have the heat sinks to take full advantage of it's firepower and maneuverability options. Besides if I was trying to get you to buy my product would I tell you of another?

As i prefer the variant with more armor instead of the SRM, the Jenner has enough armor & heatsinks
Ammunition in a light Mech is much too dangerous anyway !

I agree, any in a light is too much.

Not me. I like ammo when it's in the right quantity.

LOL, well there is that.
Over loading your mech with ammo you'll never need is something many home grown mechs semm to have (like a ton of ammo for each MG or SRM2 it has). I also cringe when I see ammo in an arm--you're just asking for it to explode.
