Wear and tear.
Give them some washes to bring out the details, then some drybrushing to bring out the highlights, and add some wear and tear.
Silver on the edges, so it looks like the paint's worn away, black around the gun muzzles, maybe some kill markers or graffiti.
And paint the cockpit glass. I usually do mine in some shade of blue, and then put clear nail polish over it so it's shiny.
Or you could do the Games Workshop thing and put skulls and purity seals all over them. (BLEAH!!) _________________ Storm "The More that thou sweatest and swearest in training, the less thou bleedest and diest in combat."--Dick Marcinko

I don't understand the meaning of the thread .. but if I understand this is your technique to give an appearance of aging.
I usually use inks that I apply at certain stages.
It 'became almost inseparable the GW devlan mud , I used almost always, also make use of Vallejo brown ink because has a different consistency from devlan mud, and then the lighter with a range of orange for more' rusty parts .. in short is a game of inks and translucency .

My mistake. I was trying to reply to a post and hit the wrong button.
Now I can't remember what post I was trying to reply to in the first place.
Something about "What should I do with these mechs?" or somesuch. _________________ Storm "The More that thou sweatest and swearest in training, the less thou bleedest and diest in combat."--Dick Marcinko
