------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The Fox FX-2V is Corean's second run of the Fox battlemech. Alterations were
made to the first generation FX-1V design after reviewing after action reports
and recommendations collected from mercenary and militia units throughout the
Federated Suns who had used the 'mech in combat.
==Capabilities:==
The biggest change with the FX-2V was the adoption of a lighter endo steel
frame. This change allowed Corean's engineers to mount additional equipment
and armor on the Fox's frame.
The most controversial change was to reduce the amount of ammunition carried
for the RAC, a decision when a review of after-action reports revealed that
the Fox was generally destroyed in combat before it consumed two tons of
ammunition.
Short-range firepower was augmented with the addition of an ER small laser,
and an ECM suite was added to counter the threat of C3 enabled opponents.
==Deployment==
Despite the modifications, the Fox is still a cheap 'mech for its size, and
remains a popular buy for mercenaries and militia units, its primary intended
market.

I like the fluff, it adds an understand of what you wanted for the mech and why things endup the way they did.

Hmm, not bad, but it still lacks concentrated firepower. Maybe if you replaced the SRMs and ER med with a large laser, but that would be a hard blow to heat dissipation. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

That would just turn it into a smaller Enforcer, I think. _________________ Evil is like a bowl of oranges. Only one, instead, is an orange of DOOM. That orange has a fate to rule over the other oranges with an iron fist. That orange is me.

Intersting. what is the big change from the original?
If you are bored run it up against the SRM4 version Razorback and the old school Whitworth.
Curious how it plays out.
I like the load out, seems very multirole. That is what Mercs want and need.
AWAD- Grim Reaper is a perfect Merc Mech.

I thought about giving it paired SSRM-4s to give it more punch, not to mention that that would generate a fourteen chances for a critical hit or head shot if the Fox hit somebody with a full spread (6 AC-2 bursts and 8 missiles) but I've found in fights that there are a lot of times when I can hit things when the laser's slight range advantage is key. Having an energy backup for running out of ammo also seemed important.
I also tried slotting in a RAC-5...which fits, but only with one ton of ammo.
Made an error in the fluff too...the 1V also used an endo steel frame.
I also thought about an omni version...it would have 15 tons of pod space, although I'd also want to upgrade to DHS...a cheap National Guard unit without DHS makes sense, but an omni would definitely want them so it could mount ER PPCs and the like. _________________ "The enemy's gate is down."
