Guys, a mech doesn't need more than one "character" item. The flamers qualify all by themself.
Flamers (2, CT)
PPC (1, RA)
SRMs (I take a 4-tube solution, LT)
AC (the 5 is good on this, LA)
Quite a weapons list even without medium lasers. I didn't leave any extra weight for cargo, I just filled it up with heat sinks instead. 13 to be exact, and of those I had to place 4. 1went in each of the legs, 1 RT and one HD. Say it's a "heat tube" for keeping the pilot comfortable while the grill is in operation.
Not that this has much to do with committee design. We haven't decided to go overweight for a few extra systems yet.

depends on who you talk too.
i use flamers frequently in my designs. the fact that the do full dmg vs infantry in buildings and can light stuff on fire warrents there use in enough designs for me.
but then i've designed so many 'standard' design concepts that new concept angles are what i mostly have left.

I would move at least eith er the PPC or the AC-5 to a torso so that you have an arm free for picking up stuff, punching, holding the hotdogs and case of beer, giving the other mech the finger....

I think we just hit the 80 ton mark;)...I like the dual AC/10 idea though. You never really see it, and it makes a lot of sense from a design point of view.
I'd probably want a heavier chassis for that concept though; seventy or seventy-five tons would be nice

WE'll do that once we finish this and roll out another committee mech : _________________ "My job is to keep the majority of people in this country alive. That's it. So what weapons are we seriously agreed on:
PPC
SRMs (how many, what size launchers?) I propose four SRM-2s, divided equally between left and right torsos. This is a lot harder to knock out than two SRM-4s.
Flamer
AC/5 or AC/2?
How many heat sinks: I suggest 12.
Jump jets ???
Armor???

How about this.
PPC
AC/2 (1 ton ammo)
2 flamers
3 SRM-2s (1 ton ammo)
10.5 tons armour
speed 4/6/4
Heat Sinks: 12
or drop the armour to 10 tons for the grilling equipment

Slightly off the last question, but how about a right hand that looks like it has an oven mitt on its hand?
