If he used the Anti-Aircraft target suite from Max Tech this would be very good at knocking down VTOLs and some other aircraft.

The LBs. They're small ones, but they still have that grapeshot ability. (Historical Note: The Confederate LeMatt revolver from the Civil War. 9-round muzzle loader with a catch: The hammer had a selector built in. If the selector was in one position, it fired the cylinder. If it was in the other position, buckshot tore out from a secondary barrel beneath the primary. Imagine a barrel full of buckshot at the close range of a pistol. All those LB-5s roughly simulate that.)

Sweet Jesus! Why does every new mech have to be an assault mech?
It's an anti aircraft mech right? So it is likely to be in a rear area guarding something or moving with a main body of forces. Keep the speed at 4/6, make it a medium mech with just the LBX cannons. It doesn't need the other stuff.
I guess I just think if you are going to make a unit specialized, then by God make it specialized. Otherwise make it as general purpose as possible.

Well...the LB-5Xs aint gonna do shiznit to a attack Aerofighter...10s and 20s are the way to go for AA. TRUST ME ON THIS...i tried AA with a few 5s, and the 65 ton bombers just kinda laughed...

Check the rules and tell me what on that mech makes it anti-infantry.
And I'm fully aware of what grape does to soldiers/sailors in the real world. But Battletech is not the real world.

I thought infantry in the open took double damage from mg's and ac's. My bad. Now I've got to modify it.

They take 2d6 in the open from MG...as far as I know they take normal damage from all other weapons.
