Well I've actually been playing on and of against a few people using a hash of Aerotech and Battlespace.

Fasa Design=Totally ineffective and purposely gimped.

Custom Designs=Death and Destruction.

Feels good to be back. Got off on a EQ binge and after getting to the halfway point I have decided to go back to a balanced diet of gaming.

BTW whats the word on the new Tech Readout? Should be out by now I think.

Risking Civilians, the People who Pay you, is one of the stupidest Ideas I've heard come out of someone here, in a long time....Since mud's disarmament policy....

i knew this one was gonna get misunderstood. usually if you are commiting orbital bombardment. a] you not a merc n b] your usually the attacking force.

time again in war fair civi loses have happened.

hiroshima.

nagasaki.

berlin.

london.

to name a few. all of these attacks where deemed, militarily acceptible even thou there was most certainly going to be non combative looses.

it was with heavy hearts that soldiers launched these attacks. i know they didnt want to. hell i appor civi loses. there not the target.

but if you let an enemy capitalize on your inaction when there maybe civi loses. you giving them a safe place to hide, n rebuild.

and that would be a military blunder.

my personel doctrin is leave civis 0ut of it, and anybody that hides behind the bodies of humans. is a murdist bastard.

i was just stating the military acceptable lose theorium.

You also forgot Edo.
but as far as warship being ineffective, well lets put it like this, if your enemy has them you need them. if you are doing an orbital bombarament you really don't care about the people down there. it's not like the Ares Convention hasn't been broken before.
Aslian (i don't think i spelled it right) when you had those regiments trying to reclaim that planet from the Ghost Bears (HAH), I think the warship did it's job in crushing the invasion before it started. that right there is an awesome arguement in it self.

M.A.D. happens when both sides are capable of wiping out the other side regardless of whether that other side can wipe out the first side too.

But going by the sourcebooks House Marik (and perhaps WOB in the bargain?) can and will build a Navy that can wipe out the other side long before any one opponent or even an alliance (unlikely what with the Fedcom civil war and the Ghost Bear V. Draconis Combine mild dispute) could do the same to the FWL in return.

I guess the Mariks are aiming for O.S.A.D.
One sided assured destruction.

Isn't that the definition of war?
