==Overview:==
The Taranis Omni is more like a minature Warhammer of old. The mech has equal firepower to the old, but well tested Warhammer, and while it may not have the strenght of armor that the old warhorse had it does make up for it's short coming with it's jump jets.

The Taranis is a work horse mech of the Terran Defense Force. If their is one mech that has seen combat on all the worlds under the Terran Banner it is the Taranis.

Trade out the ER PPC's for standard ones. You don't have enough heat sinks to fire both in one turn, especially with any movement. (both PPCs and jumping will bring you up to 9 on the heat scale; even by themselves, firing both will leave you with 4 heat.) Either that, or remove one PPC and replace it with the 6-rack and the corresponding lasers from the 'Hammer, allowing you to stagger the fire.

No need to change anything. those of us familiar with 3025 play know how to use this mech....you find the firing pattern that brings you to under 5 while firing both as often as possible.

Many 3025 mechs have to be played that way and I like the "Prime" as posted, and am looking forward to the other configurations (I'm really hoping to see an AC10 version of this)

Don't put a six rack on it.. Right now you have a "laser" boat, and 9 heat is nothing.. Heck 13 heat is only marginally a pain. Once you add ammo weapons, your ability to heat up in rather drastically challenged.

The Prime looks interesting.. 2 very long range weapons that you can use and move. Enough mobility and armor to live a little through the return fire, and a targetting computer to help out your aim.

The Laser/SRM varient is more like the 'Hammer. I think that it's fine, provided a pilot is assigned to it who knows how to handle a combo like that properly. I also like the A model.

What special skills would a pilot need to use that configuration?

I disagree...with it's weapon load it's a support mech and should have others to help defend it.

Plus it's 5-8-5, that's a big difference.

Hammer them from abroad using the long-range items, and then close to short with the missiles to finish them. (Works better on PPC/SRM jobs, as some pilots perfer taking chances against SRMs than PPCs.)

Isn't that just standard pilot skills?

Trust me, I've seen some stupid people for whom that concept would be a special skill.

On the variant with the SRM4s I'd rather see a few Med Lasers...

The ability to heat up is a wonderful thing.

Or if you really like missles on it since it is clan how about a few streaks instead of the SRM4s.. better overall damage as every one of the missles will hit if fired.

The LTM version is nice, though if you want to munchie it, replace each LRM10 with 2 LRM 5s Little more heat, less tonnage..

Like Chihawk said, it's 5/8/5. And as most people will attest to, 5/8/5 on a 40 tonner, especially one with 2 PPCs, will do quite fine. I gaurantee you'll always need a +3 on the to-hit number, and if there are woods around, count on that being a +4 or a +5, at minimum.
