BattleMech: Atlas AS7-Z
Rating: 4.00
Comment: I like this variant, and the fluff.
It's a little ammo dependant but its got lots of character. LRM and Gauss combo makes for a nice long range punch (though this can be matched by many newer assault mechs).

Short range is where this assault really shines. Twin streak sixes and 4 med lasers are a killer. That said not having weapons in the rear arc means you need support.

I like the flamer, it has some interesting tactical uses and the fear effect is nice.

BattleMech: Cicada CDA-3F
Rating: 4.00
Comment: The Cicada that doesn't suck. And i agree with mud, this is the way to use XL engines.

Run fast and keep sniping, this bad boy can keep even clan mechs on their toes. Just remember not to slow down.

BattleMech: Blood Asp MAA-01
Rating: 1.00
Comment: Accurate, but for a clan assault mech, very lightly armed.

As SD has already mentioned, this is NOT a Blood Asp.

The ATMs are nice, but 30 shots to share between the two launchers isn't going to be enough. ATMs love their ammunition, and they love variety in their ammunition.
It also has far more heat sinks than it really needs. Sure it can walk and fire everything in its arsenal, but think about it.. the only time that's going to happen is when someone strays witihin range of your MPLs.

Anything smaller will be faster and just run away while anything bigger probably has better long-ranged weapons.

Also, where's the fluff?

BattleMech: Tomahawk TMK-3D
Rating: 4.00
Comment: Tough scrapper, kinda like the little kid who stands up to bullies.

It's not fast, but it packs a nice long-ranged punch and its tough as old leather to boot.

LRM ammo can last for a long engagement as well.

BattleMech: Riot mech rim-01
Rating: 1.00
Comment: Bad.. bad..bad..
Sure its heavily armed for a little critter its size, but it doesn't have the heat sinks to make use of it, nor the armour to survive or the speed to run.

The lack of jump jets in an Urban environment is also a serious shortcoming.

If i had to use this, they would be akin to mobile pillboxes. Park them at long avenues where its large laser would be useful. Make sure its position is reinforced to give some extra protection.

BattleMech: Riot mech rim-02a
Rating: 0.50
Comment: An upgrade.. of a badly designed mech.
READ comments before you post an 'upgrade'.
This just adds ferro fibrous armour?

It is still every bit as bad as its previous version with NO attempts to answer any of the comments made about them.

If you're designing a bad mech, have the sense to at least explain WHY its so bad.

BattleMech: Troll
Rating: 3.50
Comment: A bigger, more accurate and a little more deadly version of the Stalker. Absolute murder at close range and enough long range weapons to cover itself.

Thick armour and enough heat sinks to support one of its two range brackets.

I'm not too comfortable with the Light Fusion engine, but i guess its needed to support the configuration.

BattleMech: Nightstar NSR-10J
Rating: 4.50
Comment: So simple, effective and deadly.

This beats the Maruader II on any day with its volley of long-ranged and low heat weapons. Lots of ammo too.

It's also a good Mech to take against the clans.

Make sure you bring some friends to cover your back (thanks to your low speed) and some EW support.

BattleMech: Traction Catapult C-4-L
Rating: 3.50
Comment: I like this...
It's simple its cheap, it carries a honking big Arrow IV system.
What's there not to like?
Sure it's slow, but you can say the same of the Long Tom carrier and this has better cross country ability.

I can see a hick former workmech jock piloting one of these..

BattleMech: Armaneti AMNI-4J
Rating: 4.00
Comment: Nice.
Solid mech with great versatility. Doesn't have super firepower, but what it has is more than enough on the battlefield.

A couple of these could become the backbone of a heavy unit.

It also looks a little like the Grillmasters big brother.
