Overview:
    Taking a first iteration Royal Marauder as its basis, this model of the 'Mech decreased
    ground speed to improve its mobility, armor and firepower, as well as give it a far superior
    electronics package.

Capabilities:
    Dropping the original Vlar 300 fusion engine for a smaller 225 version, this Marauder's top
    ground speed was decreased to a mere 54 kph. However, the addition of several jump jets
    allows this 75 ton war machine to make leaps of up to 90 meters at a time. This freed up
    massive amounts of tonnage, enabling the standard type 5 autocannon to be replaced with a
    dual-purpose type 10 autocannon manufactured by Lubalin Ballistics. To ensure no change in
    battlefield endurance, the ammo bay was increased in size, allowing two tons of ammunition
    to be carried. This allows pilots to choose between standard ammunition or the flechette
    versions. To improve close-in firepower, an additional two Magna Mk II 5 cm lasers were
    added to the design. The 'Mech also retained its very effective Magna Hellstar particle
    projection cannons. To ensure the MechWarrior using this BattleMech knew what he was
    attacking, a Beagle Active Probe was tied into the targeting system. Though heat can be an
    issue with this design, 11 double strength "freezer"-style heat sinks do help to mitigate
    the worst of its as long as the MechWarrior piloting this machine does not perform too many
    Alpha-strikes within a limited timeframe.
    
    Defenses were also improved, with additional tonnage devoted to thickening the armor in all
    locations except on the rear torsos and head. The ammunition bay was also given additional
    protection in the form of a CASE system. Finally, a Guardian ECM suite was added to provide
    electronic warfare capability.

Deployment:
    The Star League only manufactured a few dozen of these 'Mechs prior to its fall, and most of
    those did not survive the fight against the forces of Amaris. Those few that did were
    particularly treasured by their pilots, becoming prized possessions of some few 'Mech
    families.
