Does anyone know the going rate these days for having a miniature painted? I'm looking into having some of mine painted and want to make sure I'm not getting put over the proverbial barrel. Assume someone with the abilities of Bandit in this forum.

If it was me I would say no more than 5 to 10 dollars a mini.

I think it depends by many factors,like the paint scheme with single colors or multi colors ,size of the mini,base,style of painting,if you choose to reposing the mini or if you want to add a touch of aging and decals.I mean if you work like I started lately with complementary colors this technique it required more time in layering the color and shading.I think the price may vary from 20 for light to 50 for assault or more(look at this super mechs with tripods.

for a job like this x example I think it is worth at least $ 30/35 (miniature excluded) if not more.

As always, that looks beautiful! I'd be surprised if I get something of that quality. But I did find someone who I'm gonna talk to when he gets back from a convention, so we'll see where that goes. It's good to know your opinion on pricing though. Definitely helps!

SO I routinely paint Mechs for commission and here is my pricing.
Basic assembly and cleaning of flash. $5 per mini
Basic one colour paint schemes. $20 per mech.
Advanced paint schemes, split mech colouring, camo..etc. $30 per mini.
customer supplies all decals if required and covers shipping both ways.
Basic basing is included. Detailed or special basing is $5 per mini.
I don't change the rate based on the size of the miniature.
I am in Canada so routinely work in Can funds.

yes assuming I need to clean and assemble the minis. Most people send me mechs ready for paint. and only want basic sand or flocked bases.
deals can be made on large amounts of work of course
