Overview:
    As the sales of the Mordred dropped like in a free fall the OBM design team came together to
    search for the cause of that disaster.
    They asked the numerous militias and mercenaries why they rejected the mech and got an
    unsuspected answer: The customers, which mostly were operating on worlds near the periphery,
    complained about something the designers never thought of: As those worlds used any
    resources at hand they used BattleMechs even in peacetime as construction and transport
    vehicles. But the Mordred had no hands!
    
    Instead of tinkering with the Mordred OBM decided to do a complete redesign eventually
    leading to its successor: the first Parcival went of its production line in 2952.

Capabilities:
    As all specifications for the Mordred had to be considered for the Parcival too, so the
    designers modified the base chassis only as little as possible. First the mech got two fully
    functional arms and hands to be of use in peace-time though it lost its ability to swivel
    its arms to the rear. Another change adressed the weak anti-infantry capability: both small
    lasers were dropped for a Parabellum MG '38 and it's ammo. Therefor the targeting and
    tracking system was equipped with a ballistic modul.
    To aid close combat two of the medium lasers were relocated to the side torsos while the
    third laser remained in the right arm for a great field of fire.
    Most customers also wished a jump capable mech so a Smithson Lifters L4500 jump-system was
    added. The ground speed had to be considerable lowered for that modification as the smaller
    but also weaker Nimakachi 150M fusion engine had to be used.

Deployment:
    The new mech was a great success and replaced the disastrous Mordred in the minds of the
    customers. More than 400 Parcivals were produced and delivered to numerous militias and
    mercenaries all over the periphery edge of the Draconis Combine and later some ended up in
    the Free Rasalhague Republic.
