Description: Welcome to the 31st century, a time of endless wars that rage across the known universe. These epic conflicts are won and lost by BattleMechs, 30-foot-tall, humanoid titans of metal bristling with high-intensity lasers, rapid-fire autocannon and dozens of other lethal weapons; enough firepower to level entire city blocks. Your elite force of MechWarriors drives these juggernauts into battle, blasting at your opponent's 'Mechs in a deadly game of kill or be killed. Will they become instant legends, or forgotten casualties? Only your skill and luck will determine their fate.

Drawing on years of experience, this book combines the best of the BattleTech board game into a unified whole. BattleTech Master Rules is entirely restructured and streamlined; it is the same game, but like you've never seen it before. This book includes the complete game rules, a quick-and-easy scenario creation system, the Battle Value point system for evaluating 'Mechs and balancing forces, and revised and expanded miniatures rules.

Comment: All the rules you need to know to be able to play, plus extra.
To be truthfull, all the rules you NEED to know are in a slim book from the box set, but this book adds a few dimentions to it. Unfortunately, as with most game books / instruction manuals, a rather boring read.
Still, essential for the game.

Comment: Having only just at the age of 43 discovered the joys of Battletech universe. I bought this on Ebay. I had lost the original instructions from the game i had bought many years ago but not ever played. I found this edition very easy to use with plenty of info for the beginner and the fact that it gives you miniature rules too means you get the best of both worlds. Again only being new to the hobby I cant compare it with other instructions for the game having only read these. But I can say that as a beginners guide they are superb. Some nice colour prints have also helped me in painting my mechsanother added bonus for begginers I think.

Comment: Once a person gets into the game, after theyve played the orignal 3025 game, and after theyve gone though Frist Strike and played against some clan troops, give them this book. While it doesnt have all of the newest equipment in it, its got enough to keep the beginning player interested and moderately up to speed. A fair investment.

Comment: This book is a significant improvement over the older books the layout is much more user friendly the index is more complete the rules are easier to locate and understand and contains most of the newer weapons and the revisons that have been made since the book origonaly came out consist of rules for new equipment so this book can still be used for currant play
